Great Jobs for Senior Citizens Who Are Looking for a Job

There are several jobs that are great for senior citizens who are looking for a job. There are three jobs in particular that I believe will be great for senior citizens: store greeters, real estate agents, and customer service representatives.

The current state of the economy has forced many senior citizens to re-enter the workforce. Although many of our senior citizens have retired from previous jobs, yet some of them have further needs for financial stability while there are others who would rather be working instead of sitting around every day. Senior citizens are just as capable of working the same jobs as anybody else with equal regularity. Now there are some jobs that senior citizens will be able to outperform younger people. This particular job is a store greeter. Most senior citizens know the value of a dollar so they are going to take pride in their work. Customer's want to feel comfortable when they go somewhere to spend their money. Wal-Mart has been very successful in hiring senior citizens as greeters. I can honestly say that I have never had a bad experience with any senior citizens who worked as store greeters.

The second job that I believe will be great for senior citizens is working as a real estate agent. This job will be great for senior citizens because there is lots of earning potential; there life experience can be a major asset to this job. When it comes to major purchases as a house, I surely would feel more comfortable with a senior citizens opinion because they may be long time residents of a neighborhood where you may be considering moving.

The third and final job that I believe will be great for senior citizens to work is as a customer service representative. This is a job that requires lots of patience. Customer service is in many cases the first point of interaction with handling customer disputes. Senior citizens possess the necessary attributes for this job. I believe that senior citizens will do exceptionally well as customer service representatives especially in a call center environment. From my previous work experience in customer service I have always known senior citizens to be very hard workers and very reliable.

Many senior citizens have re-entered the workforce. Jobs such as store greeters, real estate agents, and customer service representatives are great for senior citizens. Most of their life experiences will be a major asset in all of the jobs that I have named here. The fact that they are senior citizens will have no bearing on their ability to successfully perform their job tasks at their perspective jobs.

I recently took a 2 day a week position at a nearby preschool as a substitute worker. I enjoy the flexibility and freedom as well as the extra income :-)
