Great Jobs for Teens in the City of Los Angeles
Are You a Teen Who Needs a Job? Why Not Start Your Own Business or Work at a Local, but Popular Franchise?
Los Angeles, CA 90210,
2.) Washing cars: You can charge your neighbors, friends and families, to wash their cars. Yes, you can wash cars and charge. Also, charge extra for vacuuming services. Tired cleaning and etc. I know this sounds like a lot of hard work, but I once had a high school friend who actually started a car washing detail business in his neighborhood. He would charge an initial $13.00 for the car wash and add a $3.50 for the extras like vacuuming, amoral wax and etc. This may seem like hard work, but if you enlist a few friends to help and get 12 clients a week, then you're in business.
3.) Cinnabun: Cinnabun is a really yummy bakery that sales oodles of sweet yummy eats to mall patrons. One location that is really popular is the store that's located in Torrance's Del Amo Mall. This place is so wonderful.
4.) Jumba Juice: Can't get enough of Jumba Juice. Jumba juice is really popular for many teens. The pay starts out at $8.40 - $8.75 with incentives of a raise.
5.) Starbucks: Everyone loves coffee and the newest line of Starbuck's cold treats right? Why not be a barrister or a barrista? In some areas of Los Angeles, the pay starts out at $9.00 just to pour and mix a cup of coffee
6.) Landscape Services: How hard is it to plant flowers? It's not hard at all and it can be fun! All you need is a little background on gardening which can be found at your local hardware stores. You can be a gardener and keep up the landscape of your neighbor's yards? Why not go around and solicit business. Tell them that you're starting a new landscape business and that you specialize in planting flowers and small shrubs? Charge a flat fee for maintenance of the flowers and another fee to plant items. For example, charge for the cost of the plant(s) and add another $10 to plant. If your neighbor wants something difficult planted such as rose bushes then charge a flat fee and add what you feel would be appropriate for labor.
7.) Life Guard: Like to swim? Well, why not get paid to swim? There are quite a few beaches in California that are in need of life guards! Why not get paid to hang out all day at the beach? To get started, call around to your local city beaches or city councils and start asking how you can become a life guard. You may also want to try and call your local fire departments. They may have some information for you.
8.) Junior camp counselor/ Instructor: Why not have fun, be a mentor and teach other children what you know for a fee? Sounds like loads of fun right? In Los Angeles, CA, local parks such as Griffith Park have summer programs. They are always wiling to hire teens who are positive, fun, and love to work with other children.
9.) Coaching summer sports at your community center: If you're into sports or are an athlete, why not solicit your services at your local community center. Ask if they are hiring sports program directors for summer youth activities. You will be surprised at how many neighborhood community centers hire students to work with children. Just look in your local phone book and call your local recreational department for help.
10.) Babysitting: Nearly everyone has kids right? Moms are always searching for a baby sitter. Why not baby sit and a flat fee per child? I would recommend charging $15.00 - 20.00 per child! If this child seems precocious, then you may want to increase your prices. You may want to also take a first aid and CPR class as well so that the parent's feel secure leaving their children with you!
11.) Skating rinks - ice and roller rinks: Why not get a job at a local roller skate rink or either an ice skating rink? If you like to skate, you will love this. Los Angeles has several skating rinks and it will not be hard to find a job. Just look in your local phone books, and search online for ice skate rinks in your area.
