Knowledge can come in many forms and it shouldn't be misinterpreted as just ideas you can receive from a book or class lecture. You can have a lot of knowledge of the game of basketball, for example. However, if you don't know how to play and you would like to be a great player, you are starting with only 50% of what it takes to be a great player. Knowledge can come as ideas, facts, motor skills, and formulas just to name a few. How much knowledge do you currently have? Could you learn anything else? Of course you can. Here are of some things I'm glad I know now that I would prefer not to have learned later.
Embrace creativity
Let your creative spirit roam free. Don't care so much about what others think of you. That's an ideology that stemmed from high school and should be discarded as soon as it is recognized. Caring what other people think is a great way to constrict your creative flow. Wear something you like even if it's different. Listen to your favorite music regardless of what other people are listening to. Voice your ideas and opinions despite what other people might think of you. You're an individual so you should be the only one that cares.
When we are children, we are creative individuals. We create and conjure up thoughts with no limit in optimism. We create imaginary friends, build tall structures with wooden blocks, and create climatic action scenes with our toys. It is when our parents or caretakers tell us "Don't do that" or "Don't touch that" that we are stunted in our creative growth. Creativity can go a long way even as adults in our lives and professions. So tell negative people to shove it and continue being you.
Be multi-dimensional
Learn to be multi-dimensional. By this I mean acquiring a repertoire of activities and hobbies that stimulate both your right and left sides of your brain. I mean you can become a great accountant who deals with numbers and other mathematical figures on a daily basis but if you were to become good at painting or playing a musical instrument, you'll become more of a multi-dimensional person. When you stimulate the left and logical side of the brain and the right and creative side of your brain on a daily basis, you'll become a more balanced minded person. You'll have a greater number of interests and will become more open to trying new things.
Being multi-dimensional has many benefits. For example, you'll become a much better guitar player learning to play the guitar which stimulates right brain thinking and learning to read the notes on a sheet of paper which stimulates left brain thinking. When these two halves are synchronized, you can better adapt to activities that require both sides of thinking. Even activities that are primarily one side of thinking will be more productive because you can conjure up the other side of thinking easier because you do it often.
Jump on our goals
If you have goals that you have yet to accomplish and you've noticed that you've been procrastinating, just go do it. What are you waiting for? You don't need the perfect time, environment, or people around to attempt your goal. Sometimes it's just best to stop thinking about what you want to do and just do it. Dream by all means but just know that a dream is not enough when it comes to accomplishing goals. Action turns that dream into an accomplished goal. Mixing action with what you are longing to do equals out to an accomplished dream.
How do you think someone who has what you want would act? Try to become and identify with that person. Acquire their traits because the traits you currently obtain probably don't cut it. So if you know what you need to do to accomplish a goal then the only thing that's stopping you from acquiring that goal is you. If you don't know what you need to know about accomplishing your goal then go acquire the knowledge to do so and just do it.
There is a lot of knowledge that can be used to your advantage while you are young. Your job is to go out and get it. I suggest learning to love learning because it is probably one of the best things you can do. Full blown into the Information Age, we must take the trillions of things to know and know them. The knowledge that we carry with us will help to choose the many roads we want to take in life. The brain is a tool of infinite capacity so use that leverage to your advantage. First one to fill it wins.
