Great Let's Play Videos on YouTube Featuring Kikoskia as a Guest Commentator

Emily Shimp
In over two months since I have been a subscriber to his channel, I have been amazed, entertained, and impressed Kikoskia and his Let's Play videos on YouTube. If you are also a fan of his, then you know exactly why I praise him so much. If you are not yet a member of his elite group of sunscribers, you can find out more about him and his videos in any of the previous articles I have written about him (for the record, I have written a review of his channel and have compiled two lists of some of my personal favorite videos from him). However, Kiko does not just upload his own videos. Lately, he has been a guest commentator on videos posted by other users, mostly from Australia's very own Gavaroc and Resulka. I have seen a lot of them, and having enjoyed them as much as Kiko's solo efforts, I feel that I should tell you more about them and why they are so entertaining. I have selected eight of the best, and they are as follows...

8. Pickle Wars: A young boy fights to save all of mankind from an army of...pickles. Yes, you read that correctly...pickles. Silly plot aside, this Let's Play from Resulka is a short, but sweet, experience with game play in the style of the platform games of yore. As Resulka plays and commentates, Kiko adds his own witty commentary to the mix, resulting in a laugh-out-loud funny experience. The game might be obscure, but the hilarity is bound to stick with you long after the play through has ended.

7. Spelunky: In this online game, a young explorer makes his way through a cave, where he finds treasures to collect, damsels to save, and death practically everywhere. Gavaroc has been playing this very difficult game with other commentators, and Kiko was one of them. As Gavaroc tries again and again to make his way through the game, Kiko tries to help him out, and the two of them add plenty of humor along the way. Who knew that a game with an insanely high difficulty as Spelunky could be turned into such an entertaining play through? For the record, Kiko has done his own run through Spelunky, but that is for another list.

6. Sonic the Hedgehog: It is the classic story of Sonic's first mission to save the world from the maniacal Dr. Robotnik and his nasty machines. This particular walk through from Gavaroc is actually referred to as a Let's Fail, wherein little process is actually made. However, Gavaroc and his three partners-McGammar, Resulka, and, of course, Kiko-make the most of the situation with lots of truly funny remarks. At one point, Gavaroc imitates an old man, and Kiko even goes as far as to imitate Sonic and Shadow with his expert voice acting skills that should make Sega stand up and take notice. Funny as heck, and highly recommended for Sonic fans.

5. Jeopardy Junior: As the popular quiz show approaches its 26th season in syndication, we have these videos posted by Resulka and featuring Kiko and Gavaroc. As the title suggests, the questions are intended for children, but these three friends prove that even adults can have fun with the game. Watch as they strive to answer each question, cheer for your favorite contestant, and listen in as they provide loads of witty remarks. If you love the game show and you enjoy these commentators, you are in for a real treat.

4. Ecosaurus: Before the term "going green" became commonplace, there was this ecological game in which you could help dinosaurs by picking up litter, saving electricity, and conserving water. This maiden collaboration between Resulka and Kiko has the two of them commentating on the game's earth-friendly messages, the dinosaurs' modernized habits, and the robotic voices. Best of all is Kiko's reactions as the trash is recycled to create a spaceship! Not since Kiko's run through of Awesome Possum has picking up litter been so entertaining and addictive, thanks to the wonderful narration, of course.

3. Babykeys: A whole bunch of shapes and patterns materialize with every press of the keyboard and...well, that's about it for the game play. Do not let that simplicity keep you away from this collaboration between Resulka and Kiko, however. As the simple-looking shapes are formed, these two entertainment geniuses comment on things such as how this type of game could have been created in 1991(!) and how the game play seemed to have been a loading screen. You will find yourself agreeing that this ten-minute gem is a strange, but enjoyable journey that you will never forget.

2. Super Mario Brothers: Everyone knows the story of this one: Mario's epic journey to defeat Bowser, save Princess Peach, and restore peace to the Mushroom Kingdom. This is the other Let's Fail series posted by Gavaroc, and with Kiko along for the ride, there is bound to be loads of entertainment among the lack of progress. These two comic experts do not disappoint in that respect, and they sing and express disbelief during the seven video series. Kiko even poses as his brother with the aid of his voice acting, and the result is one of the funniest series in the history of YouTube. By far the most hilarious collaboration between Kiko and Gavaroc, and Mario fans everywhere are sure to love it, as well.

1. Mixed-Up Mother Goose: Characters from famous nursery rhymes have lost their prized possessions, and only a young child can retrieve them and restore the songs that children have enjoyed for generations. What makes this play through enjoyable even for adults is Resulka and Kiko's remarks regarding which character is missing what item and their reactions to the rhymes being played out after each mission is completed. Their comments on such rhymes as Old King Cole, Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater, and The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe are particularly hilarious. As of this writing, this is the best collaboration between Resulka and Kiko that is not on the latter's channel, and extremely enjoyable from the first second to the last.

Not only has Kiko created some memorable collaborations in his own videos (see my list of his Let's Play Together videos for further details), but as you can see from the above list, he has been a part of collaborations posted by other users. Some of these games are classics, others are obscure, but all of them feature the same entertainment gold that I and so many others have come to expect from Kiko. I cannot say what the future of such classic joint ventures has in store for the fans, but it will surely be fun to find out. Of course, if you want to see Kiko's own videos, I will gladly give you the address to his channel, too:

When Kiko collides with other commentators, or when he does walk throughs on his own, entertainment gold is guaranteed! Many fans have enjoyed these videos, and I have no doubt that you will love them, as well.

    Hmmm...

"As Gavaroc tries again and again to make his way through the game" - why do I keep imagining the bracketed words '(and fails horribly)' coming after that sentence, probably removed from the final version of the article XD
