Visiting a local coffee shop is a great way to get to know the community. Usually locals are creating your delectable beverage, sometimes there are specialty items available for purchase created by local artesian, and of course there are a few people hanging out drinking coffee that frequent the place. When traveling, the local coffee shop is full of information to help make your visit fantastic. Or, are you a local wanting to check out a new place? Here are a couple of my favorite coffee shops located in Marin County, California.

The San Anselmo Marin Coffee Roasters found downtown San Anselmo is one of my favorite places to get a cup of coffee and spend some time people watching. There is great local flavor here! On weekend mornings you sometimes find a collection of musicians playing acoustically to accompany your morning cup. Along with great coffee, Marin Coffee Roasters also makes a selection of breakfast and lunch items. From poached eggs on levian bread to granola with fresh fruit and yogurt, there is something for everyone. If you can, grab a seat in the window or out front and spend a couple hours watching San Anselmo pass you by.

If you are looking for something different and a good cup of tea is your goal, visit newly opened Teapod just a couple blocks down from the Marin Coffee Roasters in San Anselmo. With a large selection of organic teas and a modern atmosphere, you can pick a type of tea to enjoy while sitting in front of the large garage door. There are so many teas to choose from, so make sure to ask for help when making your decision. The Teapod will create the best cup of tea you have had in years and also provide you with a fun and enjoyable experience.

Down the road a bit you will find the Fair Fix in Fairfax. Right on Broadway in downtown Fairfax, the Fair Fix provides rich dark coffee, bagels, and a comfortable atmosphere. With free Internet service, you can spend hours sitting in the window catching up on some work while enjoying the sights of Fairfax. It is a nice, quiet, soothing environment with reasonably priced food ranging from salads to falafel. There is always an interesting collection of people in Fairfax, making the Fair Fix a fun place to spend a lazy afternoon.

Taking a drive to Point Reyes is always a perfect way to spend the day, and you wont be disappointed with the coffee at the Bovine Bakery on Shoreline Highway. Most make their way to the Bovine Bakery for the amazingly fantastic selection of cookies, muffins, and other delectables. Select something for your sweet tooth, a cup of coffee, and make your way out to the sidewalk to find a spot to sit and enjoy the view. Point Reyes is a lovely small town that moves slow and allows you to enjoy and relax. No visit to Marin is complete without a stop in Point Reyes.

In San Rafael, grab a cup at the Royal Grounds. They serve Graffeo coffee that was founded in San Francisco in the 1930's. This is coffee - super dark and strong, so if you are looking for something to keep you going through the day, this is the place to stop. Located just down from the Rafael Theater, it is a great place to sit and discuss a movie you just saw, or plan your day. There is always a good group of people in the Royal Grounds letting you know this the place to hang out and spend some time.

Whether you are planning a visit to Marin or a local, these are a couple great coffee shops to check out! They all have unique qualities making them different from each other and leave memorable impressions on the coffee connoisseur. Savor some coffee in Marin today!

I loved reading your article about coffee shops in Marin County. It's interesting to read how others approached the same claim I did for their particular cities.
