This idea is a basic one that can be used year round, not only for Christmas. Simply get a holiday scented candle and a candle ring that you can place right in the center at the back of your counter. You can decide to have your candle a certain color if your bathroom is already color-schemed, or if not, you can choose between many festive scents. Some of the candles I've seen are scents such as gingerbread, hot cocoa, sugar cookies, cinnamon, and many, many more. Have fun with picking out a candle, and just remember that the nose knows!
For the price of a meal at a restaurant, you can get several items needed to add some holiday cheer to the part of the bathroom that guests use most often; the toilet. Many places are selling Christmas baskets for only a few dollars, as well as other items such as scented or decorated pinecones. I've even seen packages of Christmas balls. These balls are different colors and have kind of a woven or straw/bamboo look to them. The pinecones or balls would fit perfectly into a nice small basket that you can place on the back of your toilet. It's simple, but almost always forgotten in the mind, but simple doesn't mean plain or unattractive, it just means it doesn't take hours to assemble!
One decoration that has been around for a long, long time is the Christmas wreath. Well, these aren't only for your front door anymore. The wonderful thing about the Christmas wreath is that you can buy a plain one and decorate it yourself, or buy a pre-made one without spending too much money. A great place to hang the wreath in your bathroom is above your towel rack, ideally across from other decorations so that not all of your decorations are on one side of the bathroom. An alternative to this could be used if you have a circular or oval shaped mirror. Instead of buying a circular wreath, you could buy a wreath arch to place above the rounded top of your mirror. These not only decorate empty wall space, but even out and accentuate your pre-existing bathroom features.
