Great Math Websites for Teachers and Students

Here is a list of fantastic web resources for teaching math, whether you are a K-12 public or private school teacher, or a homeschool teacher. They provide detailed lesson plans and printable worksheets for teachers, and engaging interactive games for students.

1. AAA Math http://www.aaamath.com/

This website features a glossary, interactive practice of basic math skills covering a wide variety of topics from simple addition and subtraction to fractions, exponents, algebra, geometry and statistics, an explanation of each math topic, challenge games, homework help, and many links to other web sites with lesson plans, worksheets, and other resources.

2. Mrs. Glosser's Math Goodies http://www.mathgoodies.com/

A wealth of information for students and teachers, this math website is designed primarily for students in the 5th through 8th grade, with topics including probability and statistics, percent, number theory, and pre-algebra. It features interactive lessons, homework help, worksheets, and puzzles. For teachers, there are printable worksheets, articles on math education, and teaching tips.

3. Teach R Kids Math http://www.teachrkids.com/

Targeted toward elementary grade students, this site contains lessons on sequences, patterns, money, time, calendar, rounding, fractions, and decimals. For students who need extra practice to master math concepts, there are timed drills and interactive worksheets that can be selected by grade and difficulty level.

4. Math Cats http://www.mathcats.com/

To get elementary grade kids motivated about math, this is the place. It is visually very stimulating with lots of animation. It contains many story problems and interactive math games and activities, including fractions, geometric shapes, tessellations, and a virtual mobile. There are also fascinating activities that connect math to many other topics, such as sports, history, geography, astronomy, animals, and even arts and crafts.

5. APlusMath http://www.aplusmath.com/

This site offers lots of interactive features such as flashcards, worksheets and a homework helper. Exciting games at many levels of ability including algebra and geometry will give students the practice they need to succeed in math. It covers a range of topics including fractions, square roots, order of operations, geometric shapes, and inequalities. Teachers will love the feature that allows them to create custom printable worksheets, and answer sheets.

6. Fun Brain http://www.funbrain.com/

This site contains a huge assortment of interactive math games. Students can select their grade level, and are presented with a wide variety of skills to choose from. There is a choice of difficulty levels for each game. For teachers, there is a game finder, curriculum guide, standards finder, and flashcards.

7. SCORE Mathematics Lessons http://score.kings.k12.ca.us/lessons.html

An excellent resource for math teachers, this site provides detailed math lesson plans for grades K-12, ready to use in the classroom. They are written in the 5-step format and include all the information a teacher would need to teach the lesson. Other resources such as printable worksheets are included. The lessons are aligned to the California math standards, but would be equally useful for teachers in any state.

    This is a great list of websites.Thank for such useful resources. I came across this website http://www.basic-mathematics.com
    The lessons are deep and it offers also interactive calculators and games
    I think it should be included in the list
