Great Mexican Restaurants in LA

A Review of Some of the Best Mexican Food in Los Angeles

Jason Ward
I am a huge fan of Mexican food, so much so that I try to eat it at least once a week if not more, since I am such a fanatic I know most of the places in LA as I am always going to new ones and know of some of the best in the city, this list is a list of my personal favorites and why you really should go eat at them.

El Borrego de Oro

This wonderful little gem of a Mexican restaurant is located at a mall in East LA. Their specialty is a mutton meal which they wrap in leaves and cook on low heat which is called Barbacoa, now if you are a fan of Barbacoa than you have to come to this place as it is definitely the best I've ever had it. They also have a variety of other foods on their menu and all of it is mouth watering and delicious.

Tacos Baja Ensenada

I am usually not a big fan of fish but at this humble little Mexican joint they have the best fish tacos I have ever had, if you haven't heard of this place than please look it up and get down there, the food is so good and makes you feel like you're in heaven when you eat it. They have other seafood dishes that are equally as good and prices that won't make you go broke and will leave you coming back for more. The waiters there are all very friendly and speak fluent English, my only problem is with their restrooms which are very unkempt and dirty, so please use the toilet at home before coming to this place or you just might lose your appetite.

El Cholo

This place has been around for a long time and never fails to fill you with great food and entertain you with a lively atmosphere and some of the best margaritas around. I love coming down to this place just for a drink and to hang with friends but it also has some pretty amazing food, my favorite are their world class enchiladas that get my mouth watering just thinking about them. You got to come to this place if you want a lot of Mexican culture and fine dining.

La Casita Mexicana

This one has it all, from free tortillas on every table to some of the best entrees in the city, this is one of those Mexican restaurants you can't afford to miss. A lot of their prices are highly affordable and their plates of food will stuff you to the brim, guaranteed. I once saw Bruce Willis eating in this place so as you can imagine it must be some pretty darn good food, he was having a great time and looked like he came to this place often. Another thing to mention about this place is their excellent dessert which is so good, whether you like Mexican food or not you have to come to this place even if it is just for their dessert.
