Great Movie Quotes of All Time

Kelly Russ
There is nothing better than a quote in a movie that stands out so much you can't help but go around repeating it for days, weeks or months. Here is a list of my top 10 favorite movie quotes of all time.

As Good as it Gets, Jack Nicholson as Melvin Udall
"Sell crazy some place else. We're all stocked up here."
This quote is both hilarious and strikingly true. I frequently find myself repeating it while driving on Central Florida roadways!

Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Matthew Broderick as Ferris Bueller
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it."
While part of a comedy, this is so true. Sometimes we get caught up in the mundane activities of day-to-day life, or we are distracted by problems that really, in the grand scheme, are quite minimal. We forget to take a look around and appreciate the days we have.

As Good as it Gets, Jack Nicholson as Melvin Udall
"You make me want to be a better man."
What woman wouldn't want to hear this from someone? This is possibly the greatest compliment to a woman ever. (Helen Hunt's character, Carol the Waitress, agrees, too!)

Borat, Sacha Baron Cohen as Borat Sagdiyev
"High five!"
When you can say a quote just about anywhere, and someone else recognizes it, it has got to make the list. Borat asks everyone to give him high five, and with his funny accent, it's hilarious.

The Longest Yard (2005 remake), Adam Sandler as Paul Crewe
"Yeahhh, in college we'd start every season against Appalachian State or some slack Division II team...kick the living shit out of them. Get their confidence up."
Who'd have ever imagined that this "slack Division II" team would later go on to defeat the No. 3 Michigan Wolverines at home in 2007?

The Princess Bride, Mandy Patinkin as Inigo Montoya
"Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die!"
This is the first "grown up" movie I ever saw at the theater. Anyone in my generation can recite it word for word, and so it makes my list of the top 10.

Hitch, Will Smith as Alex Hitchens
"Any guy can sweep any girl off her feet. He just needs the right broom."
This is so true. Guys have so much power to make girls swoon; they just don't know how to use it. It's a great analogy.

Clueless, Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz
Josh: "Want to practice parking?"
Cher: "What's the point? Everywhere you go has valet."
Ahh, to be so clueless. While this one is one of my particular favorites, the movie Clueless is full of great quotes.

Liar, Liar, Jim Carrey as Fletcher Reede
Cop: "You know why I pulled you over?"
Fletcher: "Depends on how long you were following me!"
Jim Carrey's character was in a rush to get to his son, and breaks many traffic laws in the process before he's pulled over by a cop.

Bring It On, Ian Roberts as Sparky Polastri
"I am a choreographer. That's what I do. You are cheerleaders. Cheerleaders are dancers who have gone retarded. What you do is a tiny, pathetic subset of dancing. I will attempt to turn your robotic routines into poetry, written with the human body. Follow me or perish, sweater monkeys."
I just can't get over this entire section of one of my favorite movies - and also a guilty pleasure! There is no more teeny-bopper movie than "Bring It On". But there are so many zingers, it's hard not to laugh at least once or twice.

I haven't seen "Bring It On", but with lines like "cheerleaders are dancers who have gone retarded", I may have to watch it, lol. Great list :)
