Great Movies that Would Make Awesome Video Games

David Leavitt
Have you ever noticed how almost every new movie these days is accompanied by a video game with the same title? While many video games based on movies ultimately end up disappointing both fans and gamers alike, every once in a while there's a gem in the rough like "Rango" that stands apart from the crowd. Not every new movie gets its own game though, and through the years there have been several films in particular that would have been interesting to see made into video games. Here are four great movies that would make awesome video games.

"The Neverending Story"
Revisit Fantasia in this free to play (F2P) massive multiplayer role playing game (MMORPG), where "the story never ends". From werewolves to dragons, Fantasia is full of many dangerous and wondrous creatures. With fresh daily content, there's always a new quest to take or place to explore. Only a human can save the fantasy world of Fantasia, will it be you?

"Taken"
When the daughter of retired spy Bryan Mills is abducted, nothing can stay in the way of him tracking her down and taking revenge upon those who kidnapped her. "Taken" the video game features a brilliant mix of action-adventure, platforming, and first person shooting with state of the art graphics to combine for a one of a kind experience.

"District 9"
Things aren't as black and white as they seem in "District 9." Play as MNU operative Wikus van der Merwe in this first person shooter (FPS). Help your comrades quell alien riots until you contract a mysterious virus that makes you turn into an alien yourself, and find what its like to be on the opposing side. "District 9" the video game features a wide variety of weapons and vehicles for players to utilize. When you're done, hop online for intense free for all and innovative co-operative play in this science fiction game.

"Schindler's List"
Our most controversial choice, in "Schindler's List" players relive some of the most disturbingly dark events in human history through the eyes of Austrian industrialist Oskar Schindler and the workers that he managed to save from Nazi occupied Poland. Presented by The History Channel, in "Schindler's List" the video game players follow the individual stories of actual holocaust survivors. With thousands of ways for your character to die and only one way to live, players will be forced to have an appreciation for just how lucky their relatives or their friend's relatives were to survive this nightmare.
