Great Places to Bring a First Date in San Diego
Neighborhood: San Diego
San Diego, CA 92101
San Diego is a fun city. One of the best things about this city is that it has a lot of different places to offer if you're about to go on a first date. Whether you and your date want a quiet afternoon or evening, or you want a busier go-out-and-do-something time, San Diego has some great places for you.

Balboa Park

1549 El Prado, Balboa Park
San Diego, CA 92101
619-239-0512

Balboa Park is a fun and inexpensive place to go where you can see lots of different things, and therefore have lots of different things to talk about. It's a nice place to find out things you may or may not have in common with your date, along perhaps with some of your date's big interests. Balboa Park has 15 major museums: The San Diego Museum of Art has a fine collection of European old masters, Asian art, 19th and 20th century American art, and a growing collection of Latin American art. The Museum of Photographic Arts is a cool place to go if either of you are interested in or just appreciate photography. This museum has work spanning the entire history of photography. The San Diego Air & Space Museum displays more than 60 aircraft and space vehicles. The Japanese Friendship Garden is two acres of Japanese culture. Furthermore, there are some great restaurants at Balboa Park or you could bring/buy lunch elsewhere and have a picnic on the grounds.

Dave & Buster's

2931 Camino Del Rio N
San Diego, CA 92108
619-280-7115

Dave & Buster's is an active place for a first date. This place should involve lots of laughs and fun. Have fun at the Midway playing Skee-ball, shuffleboard, pocket billiards, and virtual reality games. Or have fun at the carnival-like games and win your date a stuffed animal. There is also a restaurant at Dave & Buster's where they offer a variety of food, including burgers, steaks, sandwiches, pastas, seafood, salads, and desserts.

Bahia Belle

3999 Mission Boulevard
San Diego, CA 92109
858-539-7779

The Bahia Belle is a Mississippi-style sternwheeler boat that cruises Mission Bay. Onboard there is live music - oftentimes swingin' blues and other dance music. You and your date can have fun dancing on a ship as the ship makes stops at the Catamaran and Bahia Resort Hotels. You may disembark at the Catamaran Resort to check out the beautiful surroundings there, or you can stay on the ship and have drinks at the Tangier's Bar. The ride is only $6.00 per adult.

Coronado Beach

1500 Orange Avenue
Coronado, CA 92118

The Coronado Beach in front of the Hotel Del Coronado is an incredible stretch of beach. Clean and safe, the area is perfect for a picnic and then a stroll. The Coronado Beach is a really good place to just have a nice time talking to your date. The beach is accessible and free. If you and your date are up for an adventure, you can also check out the Hotel Del. It's supposed to be haunted but even if you don't see any phantasmal sights, the Hotel itself is spectacular.
