Great Places for Dates or First Dates in Los Angeles
Neighborhood: Los Angeles
Los Angeles, CA 90046
Los Angeles is my home away from home. It is an amazing city. It is one of the most renounced cities in the country. It is full of culture, history, and diversity, and if romance is in the air for you, Los Angeles has wonderful places to offer. If you're about to go on a first date, there are a myriad of things to do in this city. Whether you want a quiet evening or a livelier day, Los Angeles has places for you and your date.

Venice Beach

2300 Ocean Front Walk
Venice, CA 90291

Venice Beach lives on culture. If you and your date just want to hang out, see different things, and talk, then Venice Beach would be a great place to go. The Ocean Front Walk is approximately two kilometers of Los Angeles fun. Down this walk, there are art galleries, ice cream parlors, gift shops, street performances, and dining areas. This would be a fun place to talk about numerous things. Find out what your date enjoys and doesn't enjoy. Find out his or her taste in food and entertainment. Venice Beach has a lot to offer. All the vendors are friendly. The atmosphere is warm and light.

Naples Island Gondolas

5437 East Ocean Blvd.
Long Beach, CA 90802
562-433-9595

Hours: Mon-Fri: 11am-11pm

If you want a romantic quiet time with your date, the Italian gondola rides in Long Beach might be a good choice. You can ride down a stretch of Long Beach, the canals of Naples, in an authentic Italian gondola. The gondolier will even sing if you want him to do so. You and your date can enjoy a quiet gondola ride in the evening. You can bring a blanket. You can also bring wine and share a toast.

Mulholland Drive

Mulholland Drive
Los Angeles, CA 90046

If you and your date are into movies or the movie industry, as many who reside in Los Angeles are, Mulholland Drive would be a fun place for a first date. You can drive along this winding road and talk about the different films shot in the area over the years. Or you can pull the car over to the side and look out onto Los Angeles. From atop Mulholland Drive, there are incredible views of the city of Los Angeles. There are also romantic restaurants in the area. After you've both had fun and talked up a thirst and a hunger, dine in the beautiful surrounding area.

Long Beach Playhouse

5021 East Anaheim St.
Long Beach, CA 90804
562-961-8616

The Long Beach Playhouse is a great place for a date. There are usually two places in production every month. The tickets are relatively cheap (about $30-35 for two people). Plays are generally fun for first dates. If you can find a good comedy, have some laughs with your date, and then go out for some dinner afterwards. Since you've already laughed together, it means you've both already had fun and talking afterward should be easier.

Funny.... I wrote an article with almost the same exact title, but different places. Isn't diversity a wonderful thing?
