Great Places for First Dates in LaGrange, Georgia

I love my town and very proud of the fact that we are still a close knit family, despite all the new recent growth like the KIA plant. With our town being small and down home, or some would say, we lack on what you would call the nightlife style. We do not have many choices when it comes to great places to go, however there are certain spots in LaGrange that are perfect for a first date. Below are the top three that I picked!

1. LaGrange Art Museum - www.lagrangeartmuseum.org

If you are thinking I am just suggesting you go look at art then you are wrong. Now, first if that is your thing then go right ahead and be my guest. The LaGrange Art Museum has so many different events going on each week that there is always a wonderful collection of art during those times. However, I think that you need to enhance your date a little more and take an art class together! The art classes offered by the LaGrange Art Museum are available for a one day session or longer and can be done during the day or night. Express your creative side with suggesting this venue and then once your art is complete, swap it with one another to always have the memory of your first date together! 2. Hoofer's Restaurant - www.hoofers.com

This restaurant is not like any other around. First of all you are going to be able to treat your date to the best down home cooking buffet around. All you can eat chicken, turkey and dressing, ribs, sweet potato casserole and biscuits, just to name a few. The menu changes up everyday so click on their website to check out which day would be the one for you. Now after you have gotten your dates belly full head over about ten feet to the Gospel barn which is connected to the restaurant for some great singing and entertainment. Each month Hoofer's offers different bands for your listening pleasure. They tend to lean more toward country, gospel and country gospel, but either way you look at it, the entertainment and the food will make you feel right at home and that is what you need for your first date to be like, comfortable! Seeing that LaGrange is sitting right dead in the middle of a lake called "West Point" it seems like everyone has had at least one day at the lake, if not many and of course most of them were first dates. I say this because really this is the only place in town we can go to get away from people and have the quite alone time to talk, get to know one another and just feel like you are being in a romantic setting with the sun setting, stars starting to arrive in the darken sky over the lake that has that evening glow. Hello, that sounds romantic to me, but really right now a big old Hershey bar and my feet being rubbed by my husband sounds great to me as well. I guess that is what 7 years of marriage will do to ya! It's been a while since we had our first date. Anyways, back to what I need to tell you. Yes of course you can go to any one of the many parks we have in our area, and just pop a squat on the grass with a blanket and something to nibble on, which will cost you absolutely NOTHING! However if you want to impress your date a tab bit, then head on over to the marina for the day and bask in their many different activities they have to offer. There is boat rentals, jet skis, paddle boat rental, hiking, horseshoes, and even fishing. After a long but fun filled day on the water of Lake West Point, head on over to the on site restaurant for some great cooking which includes some of the best seafood! I am sure you will not be let down and neither will your date! If things get really good, then head on over to the cabins and rent on for the night! I am not saying that I would go that route, but hey some people are lucky like that!
