Great Restaurants for Brunch in Delaware County, Pa

Three of Jenn's Favorite Local Brunch Places

Jennifer Bove
There's definitely something to be said about brunch. You're not in a hurry to get out early, you're not worried about it being too late. For some reason I always equate brunch with family gatherings and happy get together. I'm sure it is different for everyone. To some it may be a date, to some it may even be alone. No matter how many people are in your party, brunch is something to be savored. Below are three of my favorite places for brunch in the Delaware County, Pa area.

Great Local Restaurants for Brunch-Penn Pines Section of Upper Darby, Pa

Penn Pines Diner-Penn Pines Diner was voted best Diner in Delaware County in 2009. It is definitely a busy diner, so plan ahead. If it is a holiday brunch you are seeking or it is a Sunday, I would recommend taking into account of wait time particularly if you have small children. A good idea would be to call ahead and see how busy they are. Once you are seated though, there is no long wait period for anything. The service is always excellent no matter how busy they are. If you are ordering off their breakfast menu (served anytime), prices range from $2.50 to $10.95. If you are ordering off their lunch menu, prices range from $2.75 to $7.95. They offer the typical diner fare to New York Strip Steak and eggs. The taste however, is far from typical and the service is fantastic. To see exact prices and all food available, please visit their website listed below and hit "menu". There's also special prices depending on the time and a great 20% off entire check web coupon available on their website. Penn Pines is a very nice small town that borders Clifton Heights, Aldan, Yeadon, Upper Darby and Secane. It is located in a shopping center that is not typically busy and has an unusually large parking lot right in front.

The Breakfast Club-For a brunch, this is a great place to go. This diner closes at 2:30 PM so it is dedicated to breakfast and lunch food, perfect for brunch. A packed dining room full of energy and good food and conversation not only among yourselves in your group, but through this restaurant as everyone seems to know everyone here. Not a place to go if you are looking for a quiet brunch, but if you're in the mood for a lively meal and conversation, this is the place to be. The food is inexpensive, everything under $10.00. You are more likely though to get a meal for two at a mere $15.00.

Great Local Restaurants for Brunch-Media, Pa

The Court Diner-The Court Diner has been around since 1963. Although waiter, waitresses and other staff have come and gone since then, their great service and customer care has remained the same-great. I've had the pleasure of eating here during all the different meals of the day. They too serve the traditional diner fare, but on top of that they serve health conscious sautes and vegetarian dishes. All can find find something to eat here. They are very accommodating when you come in with a large family group-the perfect family brunch setting. For those eating their brunch alone, if you have a working brunch, Internet access is now available. Lunchtime during the week fills with courthouse workers as it is a mere blocks from Delaware County Courthouse, but brunch would be perfect timing.
