Lunch time is always busy for this small deli. I work in Delray Beach, Florida. Its only a ten minute drive to the deli. I find myself calling in a lunch order at least once a week. I normally choose to pick my order up simply because I love the scenic drive up State Road A1A. Driving up the beach side road is great. It gives me a relaxing breather form work. I am always greeted by the same smiling faces as I go in. The people that work there are always courteous and ready to help you get on your way.
My favorite item on the menu is the #6, one of "Richie's Special Sandwiches". A delicious mixture of ham, salami, pepperoni and cappicola with provolone cheese, loaded with crisp lettuce, tomatoes & a wonderful vinaigrette dressing, served on an soft Italian sub roll. I always request lots of mayo, mustard and black olives to be added to my sandwich. The sandwiches always taste fresh and delicious.
A favorite of one of my co workers is the #33. An egg salad sandwich with crispy bacon, fresh scallions, roma tomatoes and lettuce, served on seven grain bread. Another friend of mine recommends the #23. A turkey and pepperoni sub smothered with melted provolone cheese, topped with vadalia onions, roma tomatoes and a vinaigrette dressing served on a soft Italian sub roll.
Hughie & Richie's Seaside Deli is not just for lunch. They also offers a large selection of "Heat & Serve Home-Style Specialties". These dinners are prepared ahead & kept in their freezer section ready for you to pick up. Some of the entrees they offer on the Heat & Serve Specialties Menu are Meat Lasagna, Spinach Lasagna, Swedish Meatballs, Baked Ziti, Italian Mixed Vegetables, BBQ Pork, Shepard's Pie and Fettuccine with Chicken. These entrees are great for afternoons when you are on your way home and you just don't have the time to cook.
The market side of the deli stocks a large variety of snacks foods and drinks including, potato chips, soft drinks, coffees, juices and candy bars. They also offer a large selection of imported and domestic beer. Their selection of imported beer comes from Holland, Austria, England, Germany, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Scotland, Jamaica, Ireland and Mexico.
Hughie & Richie's Seaside Deli and Market is positioned in a great location, only minutes from the Delray Beach and The Boynton Beach. Because of the location and the wonderful food, they attract a variety of customers. Damn! You got me too! I'm a bit of a sandwich nazi and make my own on french bread. Try an olive tapenade, red peppers, sweet onions, feta cheese mixed with cream cheese and a ton of sliced london broil that's been sitting in warm au jus for 10 minutes. It's amazing.
Tomatoes, lettuce and banana peppers optional (hard to close the sandwich).
Ah man, I shouldn't have read this article while I was hungry. It's a god article with, for me anyway, amazingly descriptive sandwiches that I'm probably going to run down to the fridge and try and emulate tonight, gain five pounds and curse you the next day. Curse you Jana. Curse you.
