There is more to Nevada than slot machines. Nevada has some of the finest skiing anywhere. These ski resorts are great places to spend a winter vacation, or take a weekend getaway. They all have ski schools, so do not worry of you are not a skier, You will become one very fast.

Mt Rose has been in operation since 1964 and with an average snowfall of 400 inches a year, there is a lot of skiing going on. With 60 plus trails, and 8 lifts, 2 six packs, 2 quads, 2 triples and 2 surface, there is room for everyone. The trails are rated beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert. In addition to Alpine Skiing, you can also enjoy the two terrain parks.
And when you need a food break, you have a choice of 7 restaurants, bars and cafes severing everything from pizza and hamburgers to grilled chicken and ribs.
They are located only 25 minutes from Reno and have ski and stay packages available at many of the famous hotels there.

Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort is one of the smaller resorts with 11trails rated beginner, intermediate, and advanced. They have four lifts 2 double chair lifts, 1 triple chair lift and 1 surface lift. They also have half pipe and a terrain park.

Diamond Peak is a mid sized resort with 30 trails rated beginner, intermediate, advanced and expert. The terrain park has been expanded and is bigger than ever. There are 6 chair lifts.
There are 6 dining choices
Austin's is an American Country Style restaurant offering hearty meals with the feel of home cooking.

The Big Water Grill is just down the hill from Diamond Peak. Big Water combines a cozy mountain atmosphere with a fine dining experience.

Crosby's offers a great variety of food in a bar and grille type setting. The menu ranges from burgers and sandwiches to steaks and salads.

Hacienda de La Sierra is great place for a family dinner, happy hour specials or even a big party. They serve hearty portions of Mexican food and offer a great selection of margaritas.

The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe offers several dining options:
Ciao Mein Trattori offers an interesting combination of Chinese and Italian cuisine.
