Great Spice Blends Are Available in Easy to Use Grinders
Many Spice Blends, Salts, and Pepper Corn Blends Are Perfect for Cooking and Grilling
My spice cupboard looks very different now. I was never a person who bought pre packaged spice mixes. I pretty much put together the ingredients from my spice cupboard for anything I was cooking or baking. I really don't use mixes that much. However I have made some changes since I have discovered so many appealing and wonderful spice blends.
Now I own several kinds of salt in the grinders that allow you to choose the coarseness of the salt. I own several blends of pepper corn in the same sort of grinder. There are even garlic and spice blends available in the grinders. My favorite is the Spice Islands Rosemary Garlic Blend Grinder. Oh, I put this spice on scrambled eggs, sautéed squash, chicken for the grill and so much more. It is a perfect blend of flavors that my family enjoys. There are so many blends to choose from and I'm sure they are all great. I just fell in love with this rosemary and garlic blend.
I also enjoy using the spice blends for grilling. Our favorites are McCormick Gill Mates both Montreal Steak and Montreal Chicken. These are great spice blends. They already have salt and pepper in them so you can just sprinkle on the spice blend and grill! Delicious. These spice blends may be used to create a marinade also; just follow the directions on the bottle. Speaking of marinades, if you aren't interested in mixing one from the spice blend you can find a multitude of them in bottles ready to use.
I also like to use the Spice Islands Gourmet Blends Italian Herb Seasoning. It is a perfect blend of many of the spices I would use for pasta sauces and Italian dishes. I sprinkle a little of this spice blend on my scrambled eggs, I sprinkle it on frozen pizza also adding a sprinkle of grated parmesan cheese before I bake them, I add this spice blend to my meatloaf mixture, and I also add it to the flour before I coat chicken for frying. And I use this spice blend in my lasagna and manicotti dishes blending it into the cheese mixture. I add this spice blend in plain tomato sauce to make a quick spaghetti sauce along with a little onion and green pepper.
I know there are many wonderful and tasty mixes for creating sauces, breading, and other food dishes but I have not been tempted by them yet. I have not found them to be a necessity. I added these spice blends mostly because of the ease of use and because they are pure blends of the spices. They do not contain any added preservatives, chemicals or other ingredients. I like that. I could mix these spices on my own but knowing that these blends are mixture of the very spices I would use at a great price and already in storage bottles suits my preference.
