Holiday shopping is here and it is time to start thinking about what to get for everyone for the holidays. Shopping around the holiday season can be a stressful task, especially if you do not know what to get for everyone. It is important to have an idea of what you are going to purchase before you go to the store, or you can spend hours wandering the aisles deciding what to get.

Stocking stuffers can be a lot of fun to buy, and it is a great way to see a child's eyes light up when they are taking things out. It is fun to choose unique gifts for each child, but it can be hard to fill up a stocking of their favorite things if you do not know of things that they enjoy. Here are some ideas of some of the most popular stocking stuffers that children will enjoy.

Chapsticks

Boys and girls alike will love this gift. They are very inexpensive, and you can find them in many holiday scents during the season. The best thing about chapsticks is that they are cheap and can fit into a stocking quite well, making them my top pick as a great gift for all ages.

Plastic Candy Canes filled with Chocolates

This is also a quite common and popular stocking stuffer. These are great as all children love to eat chocolate, and they hang nicely on the side of a stocking. You can find them at any major retailer or drug store, and they are filled with many different kinds of candies.

Barbie Doll

A great gift for a young girl that would fit great into a stocking would be a Barbie Doll. The package is long and skinny, filling up the stocking perfect. The best kinds of Barbie Dolls that work for this is the more inexpensive dolls, as they come with less accessories so the package is skinnier.

Small Diecast Cars and Trucks

A great stocking stuffer for a young boy would be small diecast cars and trucks, such as Hotwheels. They are very inexpensive, typically under $2, and fill up a stocking quite nicely. Boys of all ages love to play and collect these, and they never seem to have enough.

Craft Items

If you need to purchase for smaller children, an assortment of craft items is a great way to fill up a stocking. Items such as crayons, markers, travel pads and small notebooks are a great way to fill that stocking up, as well as a great gift. Children love to be creative, and now they will be able to with a stocking full of great craft projects.

These are just a few of the best things to fill up a child's stocking with that they will be sure to love. It doesn't have to cost you a lot of money to fill the stocking, but thinking of what the child likes and incorporating it together will surely put a smile on their face on Christmas morning.
