Summer Birthday Party #1: Luau Party- One of the neatest parties I had ever been to was a Luau party. When you create the perfect luau summer birthday party you don't have to actually spend a lot of time or money in preparing it. All you need for a good luau summer birthday party are a variety of flower lais, either plastic or real (you can actually use the lais as an activity where everyone makes their own lais), some nice tropical music and some Hawaiin shirts. Plan a backyard bbq, throw out some tiki lights and set up a limbo bar. You can go more extreme than this by doing things like grass skirts, extravegant decorations and lighting, but you don't have to do these things in order to have a successful summer luau birthday party.
Summer Birthday Party #2: Pool Party- Pool parties have always been a great summer birthday party idea. These days you don't even have to have a pool of your own in order to throw a successful pool party, and you don't even have to do it in the summertime. Many of your local hotels and motels, that have indoor pools, will happily rent out their pools for your summer birthday party. When you throw a pool party at home make sure that you set out beach towels, bottles of sunscreen and cool drinks. Throw in a lot of floaties and pool games for everyone to enjoy. Having an indoor pool party is a good idea for people who can't tolerate the summertime heat or the harsh rays of the sun. If you are having a pool party at home you could combine it with a backyard cookout to create the ultimate get-together.
Summer Birthday Party #3: Water Party- You are probably wondering what a water party is, especially since we just discussed having a pool party above. Well a water party is a variation of the pool summer birthday party idea, only without a swimming pool. With a summer water birthday party you set up things like sprinklers, kiddie pools, slip 'n slides and even a water slide (Wal-Mart sells inflatable water slides now). You could even set up a water guns "station" for the kids to enjoy. Basically you are setting up multiple play stations for the children to go from one to the next to the next. The children would spend their birthday party time just running around in the swim suits and getting soaked while having the time of their lives. Make sure that you have several beach towels handy (or state that guests should bring their own beach towels) and set out bottles of sunscreen to make sure that everyone is protected. Set up a buffet table with finger foods and easy to grab drinks and you are set for a day of water play for your child's summer birthday party.
Summer Birthday Party #4: Outdoors Entertainment Party- For this summer birthday party idea you will need to spend a little more money. For the outdoor entertainment party you are looking for things like the inflatable slides and bounce houses that are available for rent. Set up some outdoor games like batminton, horseshoes, a limbo stick, sidewalk chalk and whatever else you can think of that the children will enjoy. For this summer birthday party idea you can set up a buffet table or even crank up the grill for a cookout. It's all up to you and how much energy you want to put into the birthday party.
Summer Birthday Party #5: Indoor Playland Party- Another great summer birthday party idea is an indoor playland party. These parties are great for when you just can't fathom being outside in the summertime heat. There are places like Chuck E. Cheese, McDonald's and the numerous locally owned indoor playland places across the country. These places love to host birthday parties and you won't even have to worry about cleaning up after the party. The kids get to enjoy the food and cake and then they are allowed to run off and enjoy the games and play equipment.
Summer Birthday Party #6: Bowling Party- Lastly, you have the bowling party. Bowling parties are great birthday party ideas all through the year, but they are especially useful when you don't want to spend a lot of time out in the summer heat. Most bowling alleys will be more than happy to host your child's birthday party. You will be able to purchase bowling packages and possibly even tokens for the game room and food for the kids to snack on in between their bowling sets. Check your local bowling alley to see if they offer any special deals and discounts for birthday parties.
These are just a few of the many available ideas for summer birthday party ideas for your child. Ask your child what kind of party they would like. You may be surprised to discover that your birthday boy or girl already has their own great party ideas. The best thing to remember is to have fun and make sure your birthday child has a blast also.

Post a CommentGreat ideas! I want a pool party!
Love these and we've actually done a couple of them. This year, it's a pirate party. My grandson has also decided that Nana (me) should have a princess party since my birthday is the day after his. He told me this weekend that I could be his princess pirate at his party and that he'd buy me a crown. It really touched my heart.
Luau party for children sounds like a great idea. I wish my mom was this creative when I was a kid. LOL.
Very good ideas...I get nervous with kids and pools, especially a lot of kids at once, but it is a great idea for people who have the nerves to deal with it...lol. Excellent article!
