Great Summer Job Opportunities for Teens in Gillette, Wyoming

The energy and agriculture industries in the Gillette, Wyoming area, help there to be some great opportunities for teens to get good paying and resume building summer jobs.

1) Ranch Hand

Numerous ranchers and farmers hire teens in the summers and springs to do manual labor. These jobs pay well and are rather flexible if the teen is playing a sport or involved in another activity. The downside to a job as a ranch hand is that generally in order to get this type of job a teenager must either now their future employer or knows someone who knows someone.

2) Roustabout

Roustabouts are oil field hands that dig ditches, build fences, cleanup oil field locations and other forms of manual labor. They are paid extremely well and generally roustabouts can work many hours of overtime. Roustabouts are hired by oil field service companies.

3) Coal Mine Truck Driver

The coal mines often hire summer help and pay extremely well. These positions also sometimes come with tuition reimbursement options. Yet, the coal mines only hire individuals that are at least 18 years old. So this is a great option for college students that are home for the summer.

4) Weed and Pest

There are always summer positions open in the area with the Weed and Pest, 4H Extension Offices, Forest Service, County and other organizations. These jobs all pay pretty well and their are a variety of different jobs available from office work to spraying weed.

5) Fencing

There are numerous fence building companies in the area that hire summer help, while these jobs consist of manual labor, they do pay really well.
