Mons Venus is the signature strip joint in Tampa, and really one of the signature strip joints in the entire state of Florida, if not the country. Mons Venus is renowned and the place, as with Scores in New York City, that everybody immediately thinks of when they hear 'Tampa' and 'strip joint' in the same sentence.

The irony is that Mons Venus actually doesn't offer most of the 'extras' that people are accustomed to in strip joints. There are no private rooms, for example, and really no privacy.

There is no DJ. There is no champagne, or VIP room, but instead a row of bench seating encircling the room that forces you to enjoy your lap dance in the presence of many others.

But, Mons Venus manages all this, and doesn't need the extras because, frankly, of the women. The dancers at Mons Venus are second to none. And by this, I mean, their looks, their attitude and their dancing skills are all outstanding. Surprisingly, Mons Venus is not ridiculously priced; in fact, for a world renowned strip joint, Mons Venus is very reasonable. Mons Venus does offer one special feature however. Members of Mons Venus can get to know the dancer a bit, on a more personalized level. You can email your favorite dancers and will get priority seating and attention when you visit the club.

Mons Venus is one of the best ever and is highly recommended.

2001 Odyssey

2001 Odyssey bills itself as the first Tampa strip joint. I don't know if that's true, or who would keep records of that, but I will say that 2001 Odyssey is a worthy rival of Mons Venus for your Tampa strip joint experience. It is an all nude club and offers full contact dances in a funky and fun atmosphere. 2001 Odyssey is not as well known as Mons Venus, but offers just as much fun, and really more special features. The 2001 Odyssey website, for example, offers coupons for discounted admission. 2001 Odyssey has been voted the best nude club in Tampa for many years in local publications. 2001 Odyssey has a great setup for bachelor parties as well...it offers a large number of private rooms and VIP packages. Ironically, 2001 Odyssey is an old time strip joint. There are no fancy steak houses or theme rooms at this Tampa stalwart. There is, however, a great bump and grind experience!

Secrets Cabaret

1620 East.Adamo Drive

On its website, Secrets Cabaret says "what happens in secrets stays in secrets." This variation of the well known Las Vegas slogan is appropriate in more ways than one.

Secrets is a solid strip joint located near the night club hot spot of Ybor City in Tampa. Similar to strip joints in Las Vegas, Secrets has plenty of competition for the entertainment dollar beyond just other strip joints. Similar to Las Vegas itself, Secrets has a bit of a corporate feel to it. Unlike Mons Venus and 2001 Odyssey, Secrets Cabaret, while good, isn't really a one of a kind. That said, Secrets Cabaret features well known adult film stars and very professional management and service. Secrets Cabaret is certainly one of the very best overall strip joints in Tampa, though once in it, you might forget what city you are in.

Penthouse Club

Like most successful nationwide brands, you know exactly what you're going to get at the Penthouse Club. The women are exceptionally hot and the place is very professionally managed. But, the flipside is that places like the Penthouse Club can seem a bit sterile or, even, generic. But, let's face it, visitors to the Penthouse Club don't seem to mind. They are there mainly for the hot dancers and fun quotient. The Penthouse Club delivers on both fronts.

The advantage, of course to the familiarity is the fact that you can trust the Penthouse brand, whether in Tampa or any other city. The dancers are all Penthouse approved and this place is ultimately a great experience.

As with all Penthouse strip joints, the top end steakhouse is here, with a menu including such delicacies as lobster bisque, shrimp cocktail and New England lump crab cake for appetizers and mesquite grilled, center cut prime beef for your main entrée options.

The décor of the steak house could be out of Morton's, save for pictures of nude Penthouse Pets on the walls.

Overall, Tampa, Florida is a great destination for many reasons and great stip joints is definitely one of them.
