We were pleasantly seated at a booth which after I sat down realized was wet. The people behind us commented that the ceiling was leaking! Well we moved and it was no big deal since I just had jeans on.
There were tables as well that were decorated nicely. The walls were decorated with large and unusual paintings and other wall hangings. Fresh flowers sate on the tables. Beer and other alcohol are served.
I noted a room to the left which was the same size as the large room in which we sat so Siam Cuisine is big. It didn't feel at all full in spite of the cars. As we left which was closer to dinner time the restaurant started filling up.
Star of Siam is located at 370 Columbia Road which is Route 53 in Hanover, Massachusetts. Hanover is about 30 miles south of Boston. Their phone number is 781-826-1115. Their hours are Monday to Thursday 11:30a.m. to 10:00p.m.; Friday and Saturday from 11:30 to 11:00p.m. and Sundays from 12:00p.m. to 10p.m.
Our server was pleasant and attentive. However it took a bit longer for our food to come than I would have expected. We ordered tea and I am used to a pot but our server continued to fill up our cups with their sweet tea.
Siam Cuisine has a nice lunch menu from 11:30a.m. to 3:00p.m. We couldn't take advantage of items such as scallops and bamboo shoots for $7.50 because it was too late.
Siam Cuisine has a nice menu with ten appetizers in the $6.00 range, salads, soups, noodle and rice, meat and veggie dishes and the house specialties. I got my favorite Pad Thai dish and asked for peanut sauce on the side. There was no peanut sauce on the dish which I am beginning to realize restaurants are getting away from (at least the ones to which I go). The vegetable Pad Thai for $9.95 was delicious. There were fresh veggies, eggs, bean sprouts, scallions, spices and ground peanuts. The noodles were cooked just right. The dish was excellent.
My husband ordered something he usually doesn't get and that was the Siam Jade Noodles. He ate every speck and of course I tasted this dish with green noodles that tasted like my noodles, stir fried shrimp, pepper, scallions, bean sprouts and mushrooms for $13.95.
The portions were large and we left very full. We wouldn't hesitate to go back.
