Great Tips for Organizing Your Kitchen!

Little Moves that Cut Stress in Half!

Mrs.Gossett
Organize your kitchen and it will make the rest of your house automatically run smoothly. I have a household of 6 people so I have had to buckle down and get organized. I would love to pass these tips along to you! Happy Organizing!

1) My number one piece of advice is to go out and buy an inexpensive label maker. This will save you countless hours a month searching for items because you will already know where they are.

2) Tupperware! They are so multifunctional and they will flow with other products made by the same line giving you a tied together look. These are also great for transporting food to parties, storing leftovers, and even as airtight cookie holders. No more stale oreos!

3) Give yourself more work space by getting rid of any underused appliances that live on your counter tops. The same goes for tons of decorations. They are not as cute when you are cleaning splatters off of them and trying to move them holding a hot skillet.

4) Keep cookbooks on a baker's rack or shelf. For reasons why.....see above.

5) Keep items where you use them. Glasses should be near the fridge or water dispenser. Store microwave safe containers close to the microwave. Work smarter, not harder.

6) Keep chips, cereal, and pasta fresh with you label maker and your Tupperware containers.

7) If you have children, consider making exact portions of their favorite snacks in zip lock bags and storing them in an easy to reach location. They love having independence. If you have the room, giving them their own cabinet with a cup that they can have unlimited use of water in, and other items they use will cut down on 100 questions a day. This will also teach them self reliance!

8) Put a basket in a central location for commonly used items, a.k.a a pizza wheel that everyone is always searching for. Bonus points? Buy two of them.

9) Dishes should get the largest cabinet in the kitchen. This allows for you to store holiday dishes or bring out your china to temporarily store for a weeks a year.

10) Store silverware near the plates.

11) Buying a pot and pan rack looks undeniably cool and allows you purchase enough of these items to not have to lift 5 pans each time you cook to find the desired one.

12) Save drawer space and put your utensils in a fat vase or utensil holder. They are much easier to find this way.

Hopefully, you will be on your way to many more enjoyable dinners with your family....not to mention easier clean ups! Remember, a place for everything and everything in it's place!
