Great Value Biscuit and Spaghetti Sauce Review

If you are not familiar with the GV or otherwise known as Great Value line of products, you probably do not shop at Wal-Mart, or purchase generic or store brand products. In this multiple product review I will focus on Great Value home style biscuits and GV spaghetti sauce. I will offer my opinions based upon my experience with these two products made by Wal-Mart.

Times are tough for just about everyone, gas prices are outrageous and school is starting and as we all know school supplies are not cheap. When you are on a tight budget it becomes a necessity to cut costs and often times that equates to making a choice, do you pay your bills, buy medicine, gasoline or groceries? Many Americans have turned to generic and or store brand labels as an alternative to paying higher prices for their groceries and household items. Luckily Wal-Mart's Great Value brand offers quality products at a fraction of the price of national brands.

I have tried many Great Value products and been satisfied with my purchases the majority of the time. GV canned home style biscuits are no exception. Great Value home style biscuits are canned and ready to bake, you can pick up a four pack for a little over a dollar. That is a great value! Forty biscuits for about a dollar! Granted that these biscuits are not as delicious as Pillsbury Grands by any means but they are a fine addition to meals such as breakfast or a bowl of beef stew. I have my own use for Great Value home style biscuits. If you flatten the biscuits out they make a nice crust for mini pizzas. All you need to create these mini pizzas aside from the crust, GV biscuits is cheeses and veggies like onions and green peppers.

For the sauce you can count on Great Value spaghetti sauce. This makes a delicious pizza sauce. For one dollar you will get a large jar. It can be used as is, or you can add the spices of your choice. Great Value spaghetti sauce is a great tasting sauce that can be compared to Prego or Ragu spaghetti sauces. I would recommend Great Value spaghetti sauce to anyone who is on a budget, or looking to save money on their grocery bill. Great Value spaghetti noodles are affordable and just as good as any other dried noodles. For under two dollars you can create a meal that is tasty, and a large enough portion to feed an entire family.
