First Impressions
The miniature bundt cake is very large for a single serving. It is approximately three inches in diameter and nearly as tall. Surprisingly, it looks exactly like the picture on the box. The fluted edges, chocolate ganache topping and drizzle of white chocolate make an elegant presentation.

As with many house brands, this product has a satisfaction guarantee. Walmart promises it will taste as good as the national brand. If you are not satisfied, return your receipt and the unused portion to the store for a replacement product or refund.

Taste
The cake is moist and tastes a lot like a standard chocolate cake mix. The molten chocolate filling lacks the signature texture and flavor of a properly baked molten lava cake. Instead of being rich and creamy, it tastes like melted frosting.

Between the topping, filling and cake, the flavor is chocolaty indeed. A small amount of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream usually accompanies chocolate molten lava cake. This cake, which easily serves two, tastes much better with something to balance chocolate flavor.
