Great Value Marshmallows Review

If you ever make sweet potato casserole for Christmas or Thanksgiving, you will most likely need marshmallows. When I was planning the dinner for Christmas I decided that I was going to add that to our meal plan because everyone loves sweet potato casserole. I did part of my holiday shopping at Wal-Mart. When I had my list in hand it was actually the day before Christmas, I hadn't gotten paid in time to do the shopping earlier. I knew that many of the items I needed would be sold out, but I had no choice. I had to get my shopping done.

I started doing my shopping and found almost everything I needed. I went to the aisle with the marshmallows and found that they were almost sold out. They were sold out of the miniature marshmallows. There were only the regular ones; I grabbed a bag thinking that they would make due for now. I actually bought the Great Value Marshmallows because they were the only ones that were left on the shelf. I figured that they were close enough to the name brands that no one could tell the difference. I made my sweet potato casserole with the marshmallows that I bought. I had to put the large ones on top instead of small ones. The recipe was still the same, with the only difference being the marshmallows. The casserole tasted identical to the other one, but it did take longer for the marshmallows to melt. This was because they were bigger not because of the brand difference.

There is one problem that I have found with the packaging though, there is no way of closing it except folding it over or closing it with a bread tie. They should actually have a zipper on the bad or a resealable sticker. The brand is also great because it is affordable and it is carried by Wal-Mart. I love the fact that they melt the same as other brands of marshmallows. The next time you need marshmallows I suggest you try the Great Value Marshmallows.
