Great Value Products: Spaghetti and Saltines

Many Americans do their weekly grocery shopping at their local Wal-Mart Super Center. It is a well known fact that pretty much everything is available at lower prices at Wal-Mart and thanks to the Great Value line of products you can save even more money without giving up on quality. In this multiple product review I will focus on two products from the GV or Great Value brand made by Wal-Mart in an effort to help other consumers save money on basic household grocery items.

Saltine crackers are considered to be a staple for many households. Saltines are a popular snack, cure for an upset stomach, and a companion to soups and salads. While saltine crackers are not really expensive, regardless of brand, I have found that saving money is always appealing even if it is only a dime saved per package. I have purchased the Great Value brand of Saltine Crackers several times. Each box of Great Value Saltine Crackers contains 4 packages of crackers. I pay on average 97 cents per box of this store brand of crackers. These are similar in taste to the national brand of saltine crackers. Each saltine cracker contains around 12 calories and very little else. I will definitely purchase these crackers again and I would also recommend the Great Value brand of Saltine crackers to anyone else. This is a good product at a good price, asides from the box and price there is no difference between a Great Value and Zesta saltine cracker in my opinion.

Another item that is commonly stocked in most pantries is Thin Spaghetti. I have tried Great Value Thin Spaghetti on several occasions. This is another significantly cheaper yet comparable in quality product. I am not the biggest pasta fan admittedly, but I have not been able to tell the difference between Great Value Thin Spaghetti and the better known national brand Mueller's. I paid around 57 cents for an 8 ounce package of Great Value Thin Spaghetti which is a pretty great deal. There are other sized boxes available for your pasta needs.

I have tried many Great Value brand products and I have been pretty happy with the quality and price of the Great Value line of products. In these tough economic times, it makes sense to save money on your grocery items and the Great Value line makes that possible without giving up on quality.
