Great Water Parks in Los Angeles and Orange County

Loraine Alkire
Los Angeles and Orange County have so many water parks it's hard to keep track of them all- some are big, some are small. Some are geared toward different age groups but they all spell 'FUN' in great big cool capital letters for the summer. Here is a compilation of some of the best water parks in Los Angeles and Orange County, rated by price, theme, age appropriateness and other concerns.

Wild Rivers Water Park is located at 8770 Irvine Center Dr. Irvine, CA 92618. General admission is $32.98 for 48 inches or taller and junior admission is $19.98 for children under 48 inches tall. The good news is Senior citizens 65 and older are free! That's a screaming deal if you're still young at heart. Also, if you are just plain young (under two years of age) you get in free as well.

If you live near by and plan on going to this park more than twice during the summer it definitely makes sense to get a season pass. An individual season pass is 69.98 for 48 inches or taller. Click here to get more details about pricing and to purchase your tickets on line. Parking is 10.00

If you have children that vary in size between the two height groups, it's best to bring two adults. Many of the rides are geared to one group or the other with just a few rides being geared to both. This is a non-smoking park; there are no designated smoking areas.

Lego land Water Park is located at One LEGOLAND Drive Carlsbad, CA 92008. The ticket price for this attraction is combined with Lego land Adventure Park. Ages 13- 50 will pay a whopping $77 dollars per ticket, Children ages 6-12 and seniors over 60 will pay 67.00. If you are vacationing the second day is just $10.00 per person, which might possibly make it worth the price.Lego Land Water Park

Raging Waters located at 111 Raging Waters Drive, San Dimas , CA 91773- General Admission 48 inches or taller is $36.99; Junior Admission under 48 inches tall is $22.99- The season pass (again if you live near by) seems to be the best deal, even better than Wild Rivers, You get two season passes, limited time offer for just $99.99. If you took your children their just twice it would only be 25.00 per day. Not Bad. For more information, click here.

But let us move on to some cheaper thrills, shall we?

If you have small children between the ages of 1 and 6 years old, there is a place in Pasadena that is just calling your name.

Kidspace Children's Museum- 480 N. Arroyo Blvd.,Pasadena, CA 91103 Admission is just $10.00 for both Adults and Children, Children under 12 months free- Free Parking- This is an educational, life science museum with many themed water activities throughout the shaded park. They are open 7 days a week throughout June, July and August. Best of all there is a wonderful public park, just outside the grounds, so you can pack a great and healthy lunch and save even more money. No, this isn't in the league of other water parks, in some ways its better but there aren't huge rides or scary tunnels to go down. Truthfully a child between one and six years old is likely to get more enjoyment and be less intimidated by this environment than at the other bigger water parks. I give this place an A+ for price, theme and just plain old fashioned fun with safe water activities all around the park. For more information, click here.

My son and daughter-in-law took me to Legoland when they lived in San Diego. I couldn't believe, though I saw it with my own eyes, everything made from Legos.
