New York State Parks offer a chance for bird watching, flora and fauna, sunrises and sunsets. Some of the more interesting parks include the George W. Wehle State Park, New York states newest. This 1,100 acre state park has some of the most spectacular shoreline on Lake Ontario. George W. Wehle State Park is located in Henderson, New York. Another great state park on the water front is Southwick Beach State Park, also located in Henderson, New York. Southwick Beach is known for its long, sandy beach. It is adjacent to the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area. Opportunities for hiking, cross country skiing and snowshoeing abound.
