Second is the need to face the consequences if a person is not going to stop from the bad habit. It is better to choose the other way around and put the habit to an end. Third is to create a list on the reasons of staying with the unpleasant habit. A good case in point is smoking. It is nice to have a cup of coffee and a newspaper in front of you while smoking. Isn't it great to have the best of both worlds? Taking in the information from the newspaper and expelling thousands of chemicals from the cigarette while savoring the exquisite taste of your brewed coffee. So if that is the case for you, why don't you eliminate smoking in the morning? With these three combinations you can eliminate the smoking by using nothing more than your mind power; you push yourself to find another enjoyment that is not as harmful to your body. You simply cannot embrace the world of tobacco, because if you choose that, in time you may find yourself sitting beside a person who has Buerger's disease and to the other side you will be getting the information of how hard it is to have emphysema. The world of tobacco is really intriguing because there are various types of people that you will meet who acknowledge their bad habits. A persons addiction to tobacco smoking can definitely acquire chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD you are also risking CHF or chronic heart failure.
There are many other tough habits to break, such as drinking alcohol. I know that cold blue margarita tastes really good, especially if you are out with your girl friends on a Saturday night. But if you are going to make it turn into a habit and turn nights into days; I don't think it is fun anymore, especially if you have observed that your skin is drying and you feel that the acid in your stomach would like to expel out of your body. It would be incredibly painful to have to tell your loved ones that you acquired cirrhosis due to heavy drinking.
There are lots of diseases caused by alcoholism. It is not fun if you cannot even remember your loved ones' names because you acquired Alzheimer's disease. So if you want to get rid of the habit, act now. The hardest would be the first four Saturday nights with your friends so instead of having tequila on a girls' night out, try ordering a non-alcoholic mixed beverage. There are various non-alcoholic drinks which give you the flavor of an actual beer. It is recommended to drink less alcohol. Try to replace your favorite scotch on the rocks with lagers or ales while betting on your poker game with your friends.
