Great Websites Printable Halloween Coloring Pages

Catherine Leigh
The web is full of sites advertising free printable Halloween coloring pages. Many of these sites contain the same set of boring coloring pages, or they don't print a whole page, or are full overwhelming ads and pop-ups. I've researched to find the best of the best places for great quality printable Halloween coloring pages and other Halloween printable activities. All of these sites are free to print from.

Free Printable Halloween Coloring Pages

Family Fun

FamilyFun.com is my favorite site for free printable Halloween pages by far. It doesn't have as many as some other sites, but the quality is far superior. The pages are more than a single simple image; they are full scenes with backgrounds and higher quality artwork. The Halloween coloring pages completely fill the paper when they print out. The Family Fun site also has a very cool Halloween Coloring page creator. It allows children to mix and match a subject and background scene as well as add a caption to create their own unique printable coloring page.

In addition to the Halloween coloring pages, there are other printable Halloween activities at FamilyFun.com. They have printable Halloween mazes, Halloween decorations, printable cards, and pumpkin carving templates.

Coloring Castle

A is for alien, B is for bat. At ColoringCastle.com there are 26 printable alphabet pages with a Halloween theme. Each pages has one letter with a corresponding picture and simple sentence. The print quality is also very high here compared to many other sites. The coloring pages print to fill the page. On these higher quality sites, extra information like the date, page number and site url don't print out either.

The only downside to these free Halloween alphabet coloring pages is that they are presented in a list format. You cannot see the actual page layout without clicking on each link.

Apples 4 the Teacher

This site claims an educational value for their free printable Halloween coloring pages. Many of the pictures includes the option to add a simple pre-written sentence to the bottom of the coloring page for reading practice. This is another site for high quality printouts that fill the page.

There are thumbnails of each printable page with links directly under it for the versions including sentences, so it is easy to scan and choose the Halloween coloring pages you want to print. There are also some other Halloween themed educational games available.

Crayola Coloring Pages

There aren't a lot of images to choose from here, but as you would expect from Crayola, the quality of the artwork and the printing is very good. There are several standard printable Halloween coloring pages, and there are also some other free printables that can be colored and cut or folded into simple crafts.

In addition to printing out the pages, each page has the option to allow children to color the pictures onscreen.

Coloring-Page.com
http://www.coloring-page.com/halloween.html

This same set of free Halloween printable coloring pages came up time and again in my research. The benefit of this particular version is that it shows thumbnail views of each coloring page so they can be viewed without clicking individual links.

The images are simple and not as high in quality. They do print to a full page, but the date, site url, and other information print in the header and footer making the page look less polished. The more basic, simple images may be better for very young children, however, than the more complex images on the other sites.

These are fun and "almost" free. (the cost of printing) Good article. I really wish had children here to use these ideas, they are always so good.
