Great Wolf Lodge Resort in Niagara Falls - Family Fun!

Renee Bodkin
Great Wolf Lodge
Neighborhood: Niagara Falls
We recently had the wonderful opportunity to spend three days and two nights at the Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. We couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. I would recommend this wonderful destination to anyone looking for a fun getaway located in one of the wonders of the world, Niagara Falls.

This resort is fun for all! Bear Track Landing is the 103,000 square-foot indoor waterpark. There is fun for kids of all ages (toddlers on up to adults) with 13 waterslides, four pools and a four-story treehouse waterfort. This state-of-the-art facility uses nearly 2.5 million liters of water (that means LOADS of gallons) that is splashed, sprayed, waved and played in by both kids and parents alike. The waterpark is enormous and even has fun outdoors (during the summertime). Adults can relax in the adult-only hot tubs or lounge on the lazy river. Fort MacKenzie was a favorite for our family as we explored the water fort while filling buckets and spraying people. It also has a huge bucket at the top of Fort Mackenzie that fills with water and dumps over the entire fort every three to five minutes. What a sight and experience!

Accommodations
The rooms are luxurious and roomy with rustic décor. I'm sorry, I should re-phrase that last sentence, they are SUITES not rooms! We were in one of the most economical suites (yes, it was one of the cheapest) called the Family Suite. The suite has two queen size beds, semi-private living area with pullout sofa sleeper, and a 25" big screen TV. Other amenities include: refrigerator, microwave and wet bar area, coffee maker, hair dryer, complimentary wireless internet access, and more. It was the perfect size for our family of five. The resort was accommodating and provided us with a crib for our baby. There was plenty of room for everyone to relax from the fun in the water park. For those with larger families or groups (or money to spend), they have KidKabin Suite, KidKamp Suite, Wolf Den Suite, Loft Fireplace Suite, and the biggest of all the Majestic Bear Suite. The Kid themed suites would be loads of fun for families with children because the kids have separate sleeping quarters with bunk beds and their own television.

Other Highlights of the Great Wolf Lodge resort include:
* Grand Living Room - Otherwise known as the lobby, this area is fantastic and magical. It was even more impressive for us since we were there during the holidays and it was decorated beautifully. A magnificent fireplace towers to the ceiling (two stories up) with cozy couches and seating to relax and take in the magic. The wildlife animals and big tree entertain children with interactive "handprints" that bring the animals to life. This is also the location for the nightly Story Time. Bring your best pajamas because you will be invited to story time in the Grand Living Room. Another memory making time!

* Elements Aveda Spa / Salon is the perfect treat for moms (or anyone in need of a little pampering). The full service spa includes: massages, nail treatment, waxing, and facials. The variety of spa treatments has something for everyone. What a wonderful way to relax while the kids are busy playing in the water park.

* Northern Lights Arcade has over 100 games in a 7000 square foot facility (located on the ground level of the resort).

* Iron Horse Fitness Center is an in-house fitness center with treadmills, weight machines, and other fitness equipment. This is a great amenity for the person who doesn't want to skip their fitness routine just because they're on vacation. I got in an early workout prior to playing in the waterpark and was impressed with these facilities. They even have televisions mounted to watch while working out!

* Cub Club is fun for children to play and create crafts. It's a huge room with fun for kids. Cub Club also offers "babysitting services" for parents to pay and drop off children so they can enjoy some alone time for a couple hours in the evening.

There are also: two restaurants, a gift shop, café, coffee shop, Pizza Hut Express, Grizzy Rob's Bar (inside the waterpark), and snack bar (also located inside the waterpark). Great Wolf Lodge also has facilities for meetings and groups. They can accommodate groups from 10 to 240 people!

If this is not enough fun, keep in mind that the Great Wolf Lodge is located in Niagara Falls, Canada! There are countless attractions in Niagara Falls all within minutes worth checking out!
