Great Workout Songs You Haven't Heard

Alexandra Zanca
Many times, the most difficult part of a workout is just forcing yourself to lift your lazy bum off of the couch, put down the remote and the potato chips, and drag yourself off to the gym or running track. Once you've managed that, however, the next issue is keeping your momentum going long enough to get in a productive workout. As somebody who loves running, whether it be outside or inside on the treadmill, I've always required some good, high-energy music to keep me going. Here are my recent favorites, I hope they help you as much as they've helped me stay focused and energized!

O Meri Rani (Spanish Fly) - Kashif ft. Tiger
In the first couple of seconds of the Reggaeton Remix of this song it's obvious that you're about to experience a high-energy latin-influenced track and it does not disappoint. I really like the fact that spanish and hindi (meri rani = my queen in hindi) lyrics are mixed in with the english ones. This song isn't just upbeat but super catchy, it's not going off my running list for a while!

Hey Baby (Drop It to the Floor) - Pitbull ft. T-Pain
Okay, so you may have heard this one, but it is just too good not to include on the off chance you haven't heard it yet. Auto-tune and all, this song is ridiculously catchy and has a great beat. Always keeps me going when I'm running.

Afterlife - Avenged Sevenfold
This is one of those songs that despite being longer just keeps me running the entire time it's on. Avenged Sevenfold does an awesome job combining a great beat and melody with some interesting lyrics that have always kept me interested and energized while I'm running.

Crash - Papa Roach
This song has never failed to pump me up while I'm running. It's catchy, high energy and filled with angsty rock n' roll passion.

Never Take Us Alive - Madina Lake
This song is a ridiculously catchy combination of rock and sort of electronic music that is very high-energy and perfect for an intense workout.

Go Hard - DJ Khaled (Feat. Kanye West &T-Pain)
This song is just what I go to when I need to go hard during a workout. The beat, the lyrics, the catchy auto-tune, it's a really intense combination.

Gettin' Over You - David Guetta & Chris Willis ft. Fergie & LMFAO
David Guetta always spins good pump-up mixes and this track has an amazing beat that really keeps you going and energized.

Guarded - Disturbed
Okay, this is a lot heavier than a lot of the other songs on this list, but if you are willing to give this type of music a shot, it's pretty intense and can keep your energy going.

All to Myself - Mariana's Trench
This alternative band from Canada has some really catchy stuff, but this song is the one that has been on my running list for the longest. I love the falsetto thing the lead singer has going on during the chorus.

So there you go! Some of my favorite running songs! Hopefully these will inspire you to hit the gym or at least augment your workout playlists!
