Great New York City Restaurants for Valentine's Day Dinner

Valentine's Day Restaurants

Essence M.
There are many restaurants in New York City that are great places to eat on Valentine's Day. Creole, Sambuca, Woo Lae Oak and Havana Central are a few places you might want to take your date for a romantic dinner. These four restaurants specialize in different types of cuisine and are all located in Manhattan.

Creole
Creole is a nice, intimate restaurant located in East Harlem. On Valentine's Day you have the option of ordering from the prix fixe menu, which includes a bottle of champagne for the couple, or ordering from the regular menu, which includes delicious food dressed in Cajun seasonings. The dim lights and candles are just the beginning of the romantic atmosphere. While you and your valentine sit and eat, a singer performs over a live band; love songs that help complete the night.

Sambuca
Sambuca is a quiet Italian restaurant that is perfect for two. The space is dim and there are round tables set up with a bottle of wine on each of them. One of the things that give this restaurant a romantic feel are the menu options, which allow couples to order sharing plates. There are some great pasta meals and desserts. After eating at the restaurant, the movie theater on 68th Street and Broadway might put a good end to the night. If you want to make it even more romantic you and your date can enjoy a horse and carriage ride (leaving from 59th Street and Central Park West) around Central Park.

Woo Lae Oak
Woo Lae Oak is a Korean restaurant, located on Mercer Street in the Soho section of Manhattan. Something you and your date might like about this restaurant is that you have the option of cooking some of your food on a grill, which is attached to the center of the table. If you are interested in taking turns cooking for one another, this could turn out to be really fun. If not, you can always order cooked food from your waiter. You can choose to sit downstairs or upstairs. Downstairs, there are booths and the music that is being played gives more of a lounge vibe. It's usually pretty full in this section. Upstairs is a little more intimate, because there are fewer tables and less people dining in this section. Regardless of what section you are seated in, Woo Lae Oak is a nice spot for good Korean food, relaxing music and great interaction. After your meal, you and your date are sure to find a nice lounge or live music venue close by.

Havana Central

Unlike Creole, Sambuca and Woo Lae Oak, Havana Central is a little less intimate. The restaurant, which is located in Times Square, serves Cuban food and has some of the best drinks. The menu consists of shellfish, chicken and lots of other options. There is a salsa band that plays at night and they are very entertaining. After dinner you and your date can go for a stroll in Bryant Park, located a few blocks away from the restaurant.

You might want a certain level of intimacy, little or no entertainment, but you definitely want romance. All four restaurants serve great food and each would be a good option depending on what mood you prefer for Valentine's Day.There is a salsa band that plays on certain nights and they are very entertaining.
