Well there were certainly problems for Laura and Preston this week form the get-go. I'm not sure who was more overwhelmed and frustrated by the task. Laura didn't seem to have much ambition, and Preston seemed to follow suit. Well, what they ended up with was a pink blotch that as one of the judges put it, looked like a pretzel. Laura tried to pass of the masterpiece as a bond between mother and son. Wow, what a messy relationship. One of the judges was totally blunt and just said "This Sucks". That's getting right to point I must say!
Bill and Star, my own personal favorite compadres, didn't fair to well with the judges either. This I believe was unfair. One judge said their painting was predictable. Ooops, The point was to describe the relationship between the loving pair. They did just that. Bill let the judges know he would give up the sun, the moon, and the stars if Star could be with him for the rest of his life. Good for you Bill. You and Star are a winner in my book. To the judges, be a little more careful with comments that aren't deserved.
Travis and Presley were so cute. Travis explained until Presley came along, he didn't understand about someone needing him. Presley taught him well. He also went a little deeper than that, explaining how he runs every time a woman needs him. Oh, well, maybe if he can make it with Presley, he can move onto women someday!
J.D. and Galaxy really fizzled this week. J.D. had a good idea only it backfired, or should I say ended up backwards. He wanted Galaxy to roll over and paint words that described their relationship, as fun and games. All he ended up with was alphabet soup, which didn't impress the judges at all. Unfortunately, he also tried to convince the judges the mess was done on purpose. It didn't wash with these observant judges, and not with me either.
Laura and Andrew's painting although precise was a bit boring. Unfortunately her attempt at a picture of Andrew ended up looking like a ghost, and a strange looking bird. Poor Leroy, I hope it didn't hurt his self-esteem.
Beth Joy and Bellla Starlett created a nice rainbow type of painting symbolizing their growth over the years together. The judges seem to be impressed by it. Although this pair is my least favorite, I must say they came through nicely this week.
Teresa and Leroy won Best In Show for their efforts. They created a nicely organized painting about their relationship of learning together. The judges praised them for the symbolism of the painting. Really, it was quite nicely done.
Well, Laura and Preston ended up being chosen as the pair who must leave this week. I believe Laura really messed up when trying to divert the judges from her and Preston's poor painting effort. She complained about Bella Starlett crying when Beth Joy put paint on her paws. Unfortunately, she not only messed up with the judges but with Travis as well. A few weeks ago an interest in each other started. Travis seemed very disappointed in Laura's petty, uncalled for attempts to put down Beth Joy's and Bella's problem with paw painting. Travis quickly jumped to Beth Joy's defense and flatly told the judges in so many words, that Beth Joy loves her dog and takes very good care of her. Looks like Laura lost more than just a doggie competition. After all no one likes a spoiled sport!
There you have it, this weeks Greatest a American dog competition. My choice for most touching, and loving tribute to their relationship has to be Bill and Star. Nicely said Bill. Most of us would give up the sun, the moon and the stars just to have our precious companions with us forever!
