Greatest American Dog: Star & Bill Rate #1

This dynamic doggie duo has stolen my heart....

There's a new summertime show Thursday nights on CBS called Greatest American Dog. It premiered on July 10th, so you still have plenty of time to enjoy it with your special pooch! What a nice change from all the other stuff that's on TV right now. Owners and their dogs are vying for Top Dog in America. The dogs are too cute, and some of the owners too! Well, let me tell you about Star and Bill. This owner and his dog, is more like a man and his soul mate.

Star's owner Bill is a good ole boy from flint, Texas. He has been married 37 years to his wonderful wife Sherrie, and has three children, and two more precious pooches at home. He's a sweet man, who has no problem trying to help out some of the other pairs in the competition. Bill is clearly having a very hard time being away form his family, and misses them terribly. Star is an orange and white colored Brittany with the temperament of an angel. The love that eludes from these two is enchanting. Bill consistently treats Star with love and gentleness whether she wins the task at hand or not. Good for you Bill, your baby is more important than winning!

On tonight's show there was a very unfortunate accident for Star. Star had gotten out and Bill was diligently trying to find her. All of a sudden Bill heard a yelp, and he found star bleeding. Bill rushed Star to the emergency room to find that Star had had a run in with something that had torn her ear. Thank goodness Star was going to be fine. I never saw a man so concerned and shaken up about their dog being hurt. Bill voiced that Star is not just a dog, but a companion He was clearly upset. He took Star back to the house; she rested and seemed to be okay. Phew, I know it made me cry. That man truly loves his dog.

Later on the competition began. All the dogs had to show their obedience to their owner's and strut their stuff. Well, Star might not have been quite up to par after her accident, but let me tell you she was performed like the "Star" she is. Star went on to win Best in Show for the night. She truly deserved it. Bill was praised by the judges for his connection and gentleness in handling Star. What a pair!

Well, there you have it, my favorite pick for Greatest American Dog. I think Bill deserves Greatest American Dog Owner as well! Tune in and watch, it's a show that makes you feel good all over, and yes, you may even cry with joy!

*P.S. I bet your dog will love it!

Great review. To those with pets, there's no such thing as "just a dog".
