Greatest Daily Snowfall Totals in New York City History

Joe Dorish
These are the ten days when the greatest amount of snow fell in New York City including December 26, 2010 which saw the third highest daily snowfall total ever for the city. The totals are measured in Central Park by the National Climatic Data Center.

What is interesting to note is that 4 out of the 10 greatest daily snowfall totals in New York City history have occurred within the last 14 years. The data goes all the way back to 1869. So out of 141 years of data four of the ten snowiest days have occurred in the last 14 years.

Global warming may be real but based upon this data and the data for the 10 snowiest months in New York City history - which shows the snowiest month ever occurred in February of 2010 and four of the ten snowiest months ever occurred in the last 15 years - anybody living in the New York City area has a right to question whether global warming is real or not.
