Green Bay Area Newspapers

Resources for the Playoffs

SH
Now that the Green Bay Packers have emerged victorious over Seattle, Packers fans across the country are crossing their fingers for a chance at the Super Bowl. Even the most sedate dwellers of Green Bay can't help but to be caught up in the home field triumph and now we all find ourselves reaching for the nearest newspaper for updates on the Packers' progress.

It may not be easy to navigate the web for decent Green Bay area newspapers, but I've compiled a list of resources that have proven to be top-notch.

Green Bay Press Gazette (www.greenbaypressgazette.com)

As citizen of Green Bay, the Green Bay Press Gazette is the first newspaper I would grab for complete Packers coverage. The paper copy usually has a Packers story on the front page, showing their dedication to the team. This newspaper is dedicated to complete Packers coverage and the internet version provides the same quality and coverage.

Packersnews.com (www.packersnews.com)

A sister site to the Green Bay Press Gazette, Packersnews.com is a haven for the Packers enthusiast. News stories, multimedia, and forums, packersnews.com has it all.

Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (www.jsonline.com)

While the Packers' home is Green Bay, Milwaukee also contains a huge fan base and in fact, many fans in Milwaukee are ticket holders. Therefore, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel also gives decent Packers coverage, as well as general NFL coverage. They have a unique addition to their normal news: the Packers blog. The writers post a number of articles per day, so be sure to check this site often!

Fox News (www.myfoxnewisconsin.com/myfox/#)

Years of experience allows me to say that Fox News may be one of the best resources for a Packers fan. Their live broadcast contains coverage of the games, but I'm more impressed with other programs that Fox airs, such as "Inside the Huddle" with Donald Driver.

Fox News has done an excellent job of bringing their programming to the internet. The Fox 11 Lambeau Cam broadcasts images of the weather surrounding Lambeau Field, so ticket holders can come prepared. Fox News offers complete coverage of the Playoffs as well.

One of the most interesting features (in my opinion) is the page "Inside the Huddle". Fox includes video clips from the show on this page, which promise to be entertaining.
