Green Bay Packers Avoid Last Minute Surge by the Bears

Dale Miller
The Green Bay Packers visited the Chicago Bears at Soldier field on Sunday and sent the Bears back to go hibernate for the rest of the winter with a 21-14 victory. Green Bay will make their presence in Super Bowl XLV. Chicago had a great play with a pass to Johnny Knox where he was pushed out at the 1 yard line. Then, Chester Taylor forced his way through the pack for the Bears first points of the game. It took them till around 4 minutes in the 4th quarter to get on the board though.

Jay cutler was 6-14 with only 80 yards and 1 interception and not a real threat according to NFL.com. He left with an injured knee and replaced by Caleb Haine who put together a few good runs including an 81 second touchdown drive with a pass to Bennett. The Packers dominated the whole game except the last 10 minutes with more first downs and offensive yards. Aaron Rodgers threw for almost 244 yards and 2 interceptions. James Starks led Green Bay with a 74 yard game and 1 rushing touchdown in the 2nd quarter.

With less than 10 minutes in the game left, B. Raji of Green Bay returned an 18 yard interception for a touchdown and what seemed to close out the game. Haine and the Bears stepped it up scoring their second touchdown in only minutes coming within 1 touchdown of the Packers. Haine played great with being 13-20 and passing for 153 yards and 2 interceptions.

After the 2 minute warning in the 4th quarter, Chicago made their way down the field to around the Green Bay 40 yard line when Haine threw for his second interception. Shields caught his second interception for the Packers and was tackled holding the football with the strongest grip of his life giving Green Bay back possession and then they ran out the clock celebrating their advancing to the Super Bowl.
