Green Bean Recipe

dessy321
Just about every Thanksgiving dinner has a side dish of green beans. The one I can remember being on the table at every holiday is the green bean casserole you find on the Campbell's soup cream of mushroom can. Frankly, it gets old having it over and over. Last Thanksgiving, I made green beans a little different. I had attended a luncheon, where the green beans were served up by themselves, it was very tasty. Now with this recipe, I had no do some checking on whether butter is vegetarian or not. What I found is, if your a lacto-vegetarian, butter is fine, but if your a vegan it is not acceptable. But for those who are strict vegan, they know how to make a butter sauce that will be acceptable for them. This recipe does not have to have the use of butter, the amount of butter used, it very minimal. The amounts I use is for when I cook for three people, you can adjust to serve more.

Grocery List :

24 Fresh Green Beans (quantity, is up to how many people)

Slivered almonds

1/2 T Butter- melted ( depend on if you want to use it or not)

1. Steam the slivered almonds until tender. I steam these first as they take longer to cook then the green beans.

2. Snip off the ends of the green beans and place into steamer, cook until green beans are tender.

3.Toss green beans and almonds in bowl to mix, place into serving dish, drizzle melted butter over beans.
