Here are a few easy Christmas craft ideas that rely heavily on recycling. These ideas are fun for the entire family, inexpensive and a way to recycle and protect the planet that we live on. Great way to teach children and the entire family about recycling.

Scented Pinecones - Local supermarkets sell scented pinecones that are used for decorations during the Christmas season. Some of the scented pinecones are quite expensive. Here is how to make your own scented pinecones for a few dollars. Gather a few pinecones from the yard or around the neighborhood. Clean the pinecones throughly. Place on newspapers outside of the home and use a metallic spray paint to spray the pinecones in colors of silver and gold. Let dry and then spray with pine scent or sprinkle with a few drops of pine essential oils. Place pinecones in a decorative basket and arrange attractively. Use as a centerpiece on a table, in a large window, or near the fireplace.

Christmas Card String - Take old Christmas Cards from previous years and String them together with bright red ribbon. Hang across the entryway to the family room or livingroom. This is an excellent Christmas craft project and an easy way to recycle those old holiday cards.

Christmas Card Decor - This is a crafting idea that parents and kid should work on together to recycle those old Christmas card left over from previous years. Take ornament hooks and attach to Christmas cards. Hang the cards around the Christmas tree in a decorative manner.

Ornamental Basket - Take older worn out ornaments and give them new life. Use left over fingernail polish in bright gold, silver, red, to paint them. Glue glitter on the ornaments or write the childs name with the polish on the ornament. Arrange the ornaments in an attractive holiday basket. Makes a great inexpensive display for under the Christmass tree or a unique table center piece.
