Pedicures and fabulous new colors for our toenails aside, making sure our feet are healthy is of the essence. One of the best treats you can give your feet in order to give them a good start into the warmer months is to give them a purifying mask treatment. Sure, we normally associate purifying masks with our faces, but our feet do a lot of hard work for us, and they deserve a little pampering too. Not to mention, that especially after being kept wrapped up all winter, our feet can fall prey to bacteria and fungus that tend to enjoy living in dark, moist places, like boots and wool socks.
While you can find several different commercial foot masks on the store shelves, a favorite of beauty experts is a mask you can make at home with green clay. Green clay is known for having amazingly absorbent properties that literally soak up toxins, bacteria, impurities and more from your pores and restores minerals such as silica and magnesium to your skin at the same time. While you can use green clay anywhere on your body, this particular preparation works wonders on tired feet.
All you need to make a green clay purifying foot mask is a half cup of green clay powder and a half cup of water. Mixing the clay powder and the water together slowly you will find that they start to become a paste with a nice consistency to it. After thoroughly mixing the water and clay you can coat your feet, all the way up to your ankles with it and let the paste dry. Once dry, rinse your feet off with warm water, and bathe as usual. You will start to see and feel the effects of this purifying foot treatment right after the very first time you use it. Your feet will feel healthier, lighter and softer immediately. You can use this paste once a week or once a day. Since the ingredients are so pure, you cannot overuse this treatment.
Once sandal weather is upon us, your feet will be ready to be shown off after being pampered with this wonderful and curative green clay mask treatment.
