Monkey See, Monkey Do- Eco Minded Presents for Kids and Teens

Be Love , an online store, is not only a great store to get terrific T-shirts for children and teens it also has a great cause, promoting non-violence. Two of my favorite T-shirts for children are Earth Angel and "My life is My Message". All the T-shirts are made with 100% cotton using low impact fabric dyed and washed for a wonderfully soft feel. Most of the Shirts are about $30.00. Founders, Kyle Finch and KamGi note on their website, "The 'Be Love' apparel brand has been designed to inspire and sustain the work of service through education. We believe in the power of education to transform people and communities and have made the teachings of nonviolence a central focus of our outreach to youth."

Sustainable toys- Giggle is a chain throughout the United States and Canada- They have a large list of children's clothing and toys that are organic and sustainable. My local store is located at 517 South Lake Avenue, Pasadena (CA) Phone 626-744-0233 My Green Doll house is made from recycled cardboard and is recyclable. It sells for $54.99. I like the various ratings on Giggle. An 'S' rating means that the product is Socially Responsible. Giggle says, "This includes products that are nontoxic or recycled, that are good for the earth and for your baby, or that support charitable causes. You can feel good about items we rate "responsible."

Sublet, was featured in TeenVogue as a go-to source for eco-friendly fashions for teens and it is no wonder. These clothes are beautiful and sustainable. Any girl would love this 'Dainty Dress' or this 'Dawn Blouse and Delilah Skirt Combo' Check here for a list of online and, brick and mortar, stores. Sublet says, "Materials incorporated into sublet's collections include organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, silk and surplus fabrics." and "In an effort to support the local economy, sublet's garments are manufactured in United States in factories that adhere to fair labor standards." Sounds good to me and I bet it will sound good to your teen. Prices for dresses range from $55.00 to $180.00.

Great ideas. It's too bad that things that are green, eco-friendly, socially responsible are so expensive, such as a cardboard dollhouse for $54.99.
