Green Fashion Alert: Target Teams Up with Eco-Friendly Clothing Designer

Target just got better.

I know, I know, I too had been previously stuck on the perspective that the Target Store was doing quite a remarkable job of holding its own and that aside from maybe logistical matters such as long lines or a few slower than desirable employees, they really did not need much improvement.

Despite Target's already constant incoming profits, though, the company did in fact find a way to make their stores even better. With their recently released clothing collection, Target found a way to expand its selection of stylish apparel while simultaneously adapting to the eco-conscious trends of our current evolutionary times.

It's called Loomstate for Target, and is a gesture by Target to get a bit more in touch with their less often expressed eco-friendly side. The limited edition collection of casual, chic men and women's clothing fits with Target brand's relaxed, carefree design offered for reasonable prices. The collection, which has been made especially for Target, is sort of a side project of the original Loomstate Clothing Design Company. While the clothing styles and manufacturing process will follow closely in line with the Loomstate Designers original and ongoing eco-friendly mission, the items will be offered at significantly lower prices than what one might ordinarily expect from this designer.

Loomstate for Target is the result of Target Stores collaboration with Loomstate Designer's Scott Mackinlay Hahn and Rogan Gregory and is a demonstration of a commitment toward a more environmentally responsible approach to fashion. All cotton used in the Loomstate for Target collection is 100% certified organic. Additionally, many of the clothing items display the official Loomstate pelican logo ad aqua color shade which apparently, according to Target news release, is to remind us to always tread lightly on the Earth.

The Loomstate for Target collection for men and women was officially launched in Target stores April 19, 2009 and is planned to be available only for a limited time. Specific dates that the collection will be taken off the shelves could not be determined but rumors have implied that the clothes will at least be available throughout the Spring Season.

Clothing belonging to the Loomstate for Target collection tends to be within the $15-$45 price range. Check it out at your local Target Store or visit the Loomstate for Target Section on the official store website.

Closest Target store is about an hour away from me, Santa Barbara likes to keep big retail out. Coming from Missouri originally it was weird at first, a land where Wal Mart doesn't reign supreme!

Target is really good about keeping up with the trends. Excellent reporting.
