A few days ago, I purchased a can of Green Giant Whole Kernel Sweet Corn to serve with some BBQ ribs and baked potatoes. On a regular basis, I purchase and eat several different brands of canned corn, usually whichever brand is on sale. This time however, I decided to spend a few more cents, because I really wanted to eat some high quality corn with dinner.
As it turns out, I'm very glad that I purchased this variety of canned corn. Its great flavor and texture have inspired me to write a review of the item. Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is an article which reviews and examines Green Giant Whole Kernel Sweet Corn.
Size
The net weight of the standard sized can of Green Giant Whole Kernel Sweet Corn is 15.25 ounces (432 grams). According to the product's nutrition facts label, the can holds 3.5 one half cup servings.
When I eat this canned corn, I normally receive two servings from one can. As with many other products, this serving size seems small.
Price
The regular retail price charged for one 15.25 ounce can of Green Giant Whole Kernel Sweet Corn at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets is approximately $1.39. When I recently purchased a can of this corn at a small corner grocery store, the price was $1.59.
Texture
This canned corn features a pleasing texture that speaks of freshness and high quality. Printed on the front and rear labels of the can are the words "Picked At The Peak Of Perfection" and those words seem to be true.
The individual kernels of corn are firm, yet tender and they are appropriately juicy. Because the corn is so fresh, the kernels are all intact and they can be chewed easily.

Taste / Flavor
If you think that all varieties of canned corn taste the same, try eating Green Giant Whole Kernel Sweet Corn. As its name suggests, this is sweet corn. Not sweet as in a dessert, but mildly sweet and refreshing. This corn has a lively flavor that accentuates any dish it is served with and it tastes good enough to eat plain. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of nine.
Packaging
Green Giant Whole Kernel Sweet Corn is packaged in a standard type metal vegetable can. The can requires the use of a can opener to open it. The front label of the can shows an illustration of the 'Jolly Green Giant' standing in front of a field, along with a close-up illustration of an ear of corn. Overall Rating
If you want to eat a very good variety of canned corn, look no further than Green Giant Whole Kernel Sweet Corn. It costs a few cents more than some other brands, but to this reviewer, it is worth it. Stocked and sold at food retailers everywhere, Green Giant Whole Kernel Sweet Corn is a recommended item.
