Green Giant Healthy Weight Vegetable Blend Delivers Flavor, Dietary Fiber

Review: Green Giant Healthy Weight Vegetable Blend

Joshua McMorrow-Hernandez
The Green Giant line of healthy mixed vegetables is getting me to crave my veggies! I just tried Green Giant Healthy Weight vegetable blend and loved the mixture of carrots, sugar snap peas, black beans, edamame, and butter sauce. Better still, though, is the nutrition label on the back of the Green Giant box. One 2/3-cup serving of Green Giant Healthy Weight vegetable blend offers 5 grams of dietary fiber, 35% of your recommended daily intake of Vitamin A, and just 90 calories.

Preparation

Green Giant Healthy Weight vegetable blend can be prepared in only a microwave, so unfortunately you aren't able to cook this vegetable blend in a conventional oven or place the vegetable pouch in a pot of boiling water.

However, if you're all set to prepare your Green Giant Healthy Weight vegetable blend in a microwave, here are the instructions on how to get things cookin'.

Be sure you put your Green Giant vegetable pouch in your microwave print side up - and don't punch any slits in the pouch (unless you want the veggies and butter sauce to start leaking all over the inside of your microwave). Cook your vegetables about 3 to 4-1/2 minutes inside the microwave. I cooked mine for 5 minutes to make sure everything was heated thoroughly - I'm not much a fan of vegetables that are part hot and part cold!

Once your Green Giant Healthy Weight vegetables have cooked, take the pouch out of your microwave and open the pouch, pouring the vegetables into a bowl. Enjoy!

Flavor

The butter sauce in the Green Giant Healthy Weight vegetable blend really makes this dish delightfully palatable. Sometimes these vegetable blends get a little dry, especially when beans are involved . However, the meaty flavor of the beans and the butter sauce really help give this Green Giant vegetable blend a nice, rich texture.

The carrots, sugar snap peas, and edamame contribute a light, fresh taste that helps balance out the buttery flavor of both the sauce and the beans.

Nutrition

As I mentioned above, the Green Giant Healthy Weight vegetable blend offers a ton of nutrition in a flavorful package of delicious vegetables. A box contains about two servings, so if you eat the entire pack, you'll be getting in much - even most - of your daily recommend intake of several nutrients in several categories. Here's a per-serving rundown of the nutritional benefits of eating Green Giant Healthy Weight vegetable blend:
