Green Goodness Juice: A Phytonutrient Delight!
Something Green Your Family Will Actually Enjoy Drinking!
When first tasting Green Goodness you (or your children) may experience some apprehension, as the juice is almost as thick as a smoothie, is a natural, muddled green color, and there are vegetables alongside the fruit on the bottle's picture. You expect it to taste like some sort of salty, bitter, watery paste. Surprise! In fact, Green Goodness has no hint of the taste of veggies or salt. It tastes like a mixture of fruit juices.
Though I am not normally a "health food nut", I have been serving Green Goodness to my kids every night with supper (as they refuse to eat anything that's green and solid). To make the juice seem more appetizing initially, I added a little bit of water (to thin the texture) or added a few cubes of ice for chill. Just for a little more incentive to try the odd-looking green juice, I told them it was "Smart Juice" that would help their brains grow (I wasn't lying!-Use your imagination when you serve it to your own children). Imagine my surprise when both kids downed the juice and proclaimed that they loved it!
Green Goodness has nothing artificial and no preservatives-though it needs to be refrigerated. It is flash-pasteurized and cold-clean room filled. There are no added sugars and it is all natural (100% juices). It contains 14 powerful nutrients and is packed with phytonutrients. A listing of the ingredients includes:
Apple juice, pineapple juice, mango puree, banana puree, kiwi juice, spirulina, open cell chlorella, vitamin C, lime juice, zinc sulfate, broccoli, green tea, spinach, barley grass, wheat grass, blue-green algae, Echinacea, Purpurea extract, odorless garlic, Tamarind puree, dragon fruit juice, lemon bioflavonoids, Jerusalem artichokes, and Nova Scotia dulce.
Serving size is 8 fl oz. and is 140 calories per serving. The great part of this juice is that it besides being very nutritious it also has no fat or cholesterol. The juice is relatively high in sugars, but they are sugars from the fruit and not artificially added. Green Goodness is packed with Vitamins A, C, B6, and B12, zinc, potassium, manganese, thiamin, riboflavin, folic acid, and iron.
Green Goodness is sold in most major grocery stores and is usually found near the produce aisle in its own special Bolthouse Farms refrigerated section. Bolthouse Farms is a 4th generation family farm located in California that originated in Michigan in 1915. In addition to Green Goodness, they have a new line of natural fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies including Carrot, Orange, Passion, Vedge, Blue Goodness, Strawberry Banana, Vanilla Chai (full of soy protein and one of my favorites!), Mocha Cappuccino, Hazelnut Latte, Mango Lemonade, Prickly Pear Cactus, Lemonade, Cranberry Lemonade, Berry Boost, and C-Boost.
Green Goodness can be found in a larger 1 liter "family"-sized bottle and in a smaller one- to two- serving bottle. The larger size can be purchased for around $3.00.
In my opinion, Green Goodness juice is a God-send for children (and their families) who refuse to eat regular vegetables. It's also great for adults out there who are too busy for anything but fast food (including me!). Green Goodness is great-tasting, will improve your health and energy with regular consumption, and leaves you with the good feeling that you've given yourself (or you kids) something incredibly nutritious. My family (including my husband and my picky-eater, autistic, young children) highly recommend it.
