In case you haven't heard the Triumph International Japan Limited has come up with a bra that uses solar powered technology. Now before you double up with sidesplitting laughter consider that one bra will power an ipod for a half a day. Course there has to be a way for the photovoltaic cells to get sunlight to power the bra. I guess it's a matter of aim and shot. What will those Japanese guys think up next?
Lets get serious for a minute because in California solar powered technology is helping folks save considerable amounts of money on electricity with low down payments and flexible financing you can enjoy savings from the electric plant next month if installed this month and some contractors are helping by delaying your first payment for 3 months giving you a quicker pay back period. Not to mention that they also give a money back guarantee if it fails to power your house effectively. Now that's the way to introduce your home as eco friendly.
In Iowa at Iowa Thin Film Technologies they produce solar powered battery re-chargers for military tents. That is a good idea in the Middle East were sunshine is free and plentiful as it sure beats using their oil. The PowerFilm Rollable Solar Charger was named one of the 10 Best Green Products for 2008. It's compact and rolls up in your gear taking up very little space.
In Carson, California Polar Power Inc. has come up with a solar powered refrigerator designed to last a lifetime. It also has an alternative DC powered switch should you need conventional power do to long exposure to dark conditions. It is smooth and quiet running using brushless compressors. They have dual compressors one to run the refrigerator and one for the freezer. It also uses eco friendly non-CFC materials and comes with a two-year warranty.
Also in California The SHURflo Pump Manufacturing Company is building solar water pumps. These are small but high efficient pumps for recreational vehicles, marine, food service, industrial and water purification industries. They have all shapes and sizes and are easily installed and maintained. You can use these pumps anywhere conventional electricity is not available.
As you can see the Go Green concept of products has taken hold an a lot of new products will be coming out that don't use conventional electricity but are green living solar powered electronics that use the clean fuel of the sun. This all leads to less dependency on foreign oil, which has been a big political hot potato this year.
