Green Living - Healthier Living!

Paul Johnson
Now a days we find a lot of chemical products and synthetic materials available in the local supermarket used for various uses, for both business and personal. We all are using these chemicals and synthetics everyday without a second thought. But what will be the effect of these items on our health and environment? Many of these components are harmful and not easily dissolve. Many natural alternatives are also available in the same super market. Moreover, these natural elements are cheaper and smell better than other chemicals!

For cleaning purposes, instead of buying titivating chemicals from the market, mix vinegar and water in 1:4 ratio and spray on moldy spots. After a few minutes, scrub briskly with a stiff scrub brush. For toughened areas, make the ratio as 1:1 and add 2 parts of baking soda also. This forming an oxidative paste cleans the whole surface thoroughly.

By drying out orange peels and placing in a mesh bag will eliminate the odors of our surroundings of the house. If hanged in closets, near kitchen sinks and in reception area, you can feel a fresh orange smell. In the fireplace, and grill areas the use of dried orange peels will be effective than hot deodorants.

Another nice fragrance is of the dried rosemary sprigs. We can plant Rosemary easily in our backyard and it grows well. Since it is fast growing plant, you have to keep on trimming on and off to avoid it running wild. Once it is grown perfectly, cut its few sprigs about 6 to 8 inches, and hand them in any area mentioned above. Keep changing these once in two days, i.e. when they become too brittle and start falling down. When you clean toilet, ΒΌ cup of borax can be used in the pace of harsh bleach for disinfection and deodorizing. Borax can also be used on your pots and pans instead of harsh pads. This will leave your pots scratch-free.

Green living involves recycling. But this doesn't mean than throwing something in the dust bin. It also includes re-using of certain items creatively. There are more ways of creativity. Just the same was as we use used shirts as cleaning napkins. We can re-use them. If you are buying a book for reference only, then instead of buying it just borrow it from your friend or go to a library for reference.

When you speak about recycling, first make sure that you are in the process. You are a part of recycling programmed in your city. Your household is actively recycled every possible things. You all know that all our household items are recyclable like aluminum cans; glass, and paper, plastic bottles cardboard can also all be recycled. If you fully involve in recycling all possible things, you will be amazed to see that 50% of your products are recycled and garbage is reduced to that extend.

Also make sure not to simply throw waste on the yards. They will help you make excellent compost in the soil and can grow can flowers and vegetables in your back hard. These will avoid the production of gasses which cause landfill problems. Either compost your clippings or use the dustbin the municipality provides.
