You know what?
There are NO humorous peace quotes!
Every quote I came across was dire, serious and tragic. (Gee, imagine that!)
Now my reasons for trying to find a humorous peace quote was to find a gentle way of starting this post on the hub's sudden wacky (maybe it's an age thing... naw... it's a guy thing!) taste in t-shirts with smarty-pants quips or wiggy logos.
(Note, I said wiggy not witty, dear!)
I did my good wife deed, and said nothing about the purchase of these shirts. Sure, I rolled my eyes over the tee that read..."So far, this is the oldest I've ever been".
I looked away at the bright canary yellow tee-shirt with "STAFF" boldly splashed across the chest as if he's the store greeter at the "Gap" (a pair of Dockers and it be a perfect fit).
And I have absolutely no gripes over the third t-shirt, a sweet shade of red with an "ace" playing card. That I can certainly handle... but a Teenage Mutant Ninja colored green t-shirt with a white peace symbol?
Oh... dear... say it isn't so!
What is up with this? Are truck driver hats with bikini-clad girls or beer mugs next?
I've prevailed, I've behaved and held my tongue but strangers are not helping! They are feeding the hub's campy saying t-shirt frenzy.
An elderly gent at Kroger's nodded off in the hub's direction over the "So far, this is the oldest I've ever been," t-shirt, replying that he feels the same way. I could well see his calculation on where to buy himself such a shirt. He was thinking about it, the gears were churning and his wife... poor thing, looked absolutely aghast!
Likewise the green peace garnered the hub a flury of, "Oh, I remember the 60s!" from a former flower-child dressed in earthy colored hemp threads, who's eyes glazed over with the recollection of days spent burning bras, singing cum-by-ya and wearing strings of daisy chains.
"Our government needs to bring back the peace symbol!" She continued, apparently seeing in my hub the possibility of his being the poster child of future world-wide peace.
I hate to break it to you, lady, but the government never endorsed the peace symbol. They'd prolly assume it was a disfigured dollar sign but if they are ever interested in using my hub as the poster child for world peace, by all means, CALL ME!!
